6 Months since an update! I better get typing...

Aside from the Gearbox trouble she's been very good to me since. I solved a few more minor issues...

Interior light was missing the switch. VW wanted £££ for an anniversary one (whole unit) So i've used the switch from a white one which i got for free and will spray this satin black to match = bingo!

Rear ultrasonic lights were not working - i bought 2 normal white ones from a scrappy (again VW wanted £££ for the black anni ones) with the intention of splitting and fixing the black ones. But when i took the white ones apart i realised this was not possible, so i opened up the black ones and had seen someone had been there before and not replaced them properly. Sorted this out and now they work too.

I also got a black roof strip (that runs along the sills on the roof) as i've had one missing for the longest time!

More recently i bought some coilovers from a guy on uk-mkivs had these on nearly a week, and the handling has vastly improved!!

Longer wheel bolts as had to space the front out by 5mm.

Old top mounts were split so these probably didnt help much. Front was slightly lower than with the standard anni gear, rear is slightly lower.

After

Now:

Need to get better pictures over next weekend if the weather holds up.

Still have all the anni bits but they may be for sale shortly.

Also have a pair of wishbones to go on as the bushes in mine are shot!

All in all im still enjoying the car still, especially now it's handling much better!

Na still got quite a way to go before the driveshaft will rub too. Front is lower than 50 back is probably there abouts when tank not full.

Cheapo TA technix (sp). (Sold by Hottuning usually around £160-£180 but i got them alot cheaper from someone i know. They come with 2 year warantee too) no dampening adjustment, but i find them better than the spax coilovers i had on the XE corsa. Not too bumpy but improve the handling vastly. If something does go wrong i can always change up in the future and i wouldnt have lost too much money.

Wrighty - I change my top mounts and bearings but only because they were split. I replaced these with standard ones. Think im down just over 50mm from normal golf height at the front and around 50 ish at the back.

Driveshaft isn't enar the ARB so i havn't had to change the droplinks etc.

Cheers Shep They do seem pretty good, will just have to see how long they hold out.

Lowered the coilies a bit more a couple of weeks ago and i think I'm happy with how everthing is sitting.

Replaced my wishbones on friday, the bushes were split big time on the old ones!

Nick on uk-mkivs was a legend and gave lowell a grill for me to spray black so i could see how it would look on the car and i think im going to keep it on as i quite like the contrast with it breaking up the front a bit. I also sprayed the lower grills sating black too so they matched better.

Pic time:

Thanks peeps

Ollie - I still need to space out the rear just need to decide whether to go for 5mm each side or 10mm. With the wheels being 8" wide i think 10 may be too much?
