Still nothing official been released on a fee yet, but Im sure Pompey will put something up soon enough!

Around 17.5 to 18.5 million is what is being banded about. That is a hell of a lot of money even though he's English and may be first choice right back for the world cup. To much money for him in my opinion.

As pointed out in this thread, no amount has been confirmed as yet.

Still though, even though that price would be expensive imo, its similar to what you paid for Boswinga who is older, not English and not as good.

Probably been discussed earlier, but how the fuck does Santa Cruz have a price tag of 20million plus - his record is something ridiculous like 1 in every 6.

Johnson isn't worth anywhere near those figures mentioned above.

Transfers are just mental now, man, and ultimately, whoever City sign, however much Pompey spend, the top 4 will always be the top 4, and the likes of City, Everton, Villa and Spurs fighting for 5th and 6th, with the other 14 shuffling for position.

Nah, City could easily break in to the top 4 if they spent wisely - look what Chavski did. They were no better than City pre-Roman.

I dont understand why they have signed Bellamy, now Cruz, and also being linked with both Tevez and Eto. You're going to have some pissed off players there soon enough. And may be they should think about signing some top class defenders too!

I agree, though I can't see Hughes being the manager to take them into the 'top 4'. If City arent doing the business by christmas I expect Hughes will be fired.

And other than Robinho so far, none of the other signings IMO, have been 'big player signings' big enough to challenge the 'top 4'.

Agreed.

I actually dont think just adding Tevez would make them much better...Eto certainly would though.

No worries United fans, Ronaldo's loss is sorted - Valencia's £17.5m move to United is imminent.

Did you mean to say £17.5MILLION or is that a typo? That's every bit as bad as Glen Johnson's deal (Aye I know it's not confirmed yet!!)

According to SSN thats how much it is.

IMO its worse, at least Johnson is English and that'll explain why his fee is inflated.

17.5 is way too much

Reports i've read stated a 14-16 million bid, which is still too much, although we'll have to see how much he improves playing with the quality we have in the squad

EDIT - Sky Sports are a joke, the article now states a 16 million move, where as 30mins ago it was 17.5, i think they just like to make figures up within a certain range and go with that. Possibly similar to the johnson deal

I have big doubts over this purchase!

I'm not doubting his abilty as a winger but hes not the man to replace Ronaldo!

We definately need to sign a forward now to replace the goals we're going to miss. Benzema looks likely to be going to Real Fucking Madrid.

You need 2 people to replace ronaldo, one is a RW and the other a proper striker who bangs them in

Edit- Although I would much rather have a striker and have Park on the right wing.

Im just replying with what you (may of bene Strick) said when I said you need two players to replace him.

I agree, you need one who is direct like Ronaldo is, and you need one who will bang in 25+ goals a season....means you then have to fit both of those in the team though.
