it's quite exciting, isn't it? when i drive the focus now, i find it terrible and hate the understeer when going around roundabouts.

I'm definitely not a driving god, no choice or I'd have it on too.

that looks mental imagine driving something similar to that on public roads. would be an experience
matthew - yeah pretty much finished i think. the powdercoat is coming away in a few places on the wheels so they do need a refurb. also want to get the front end resprayed.
i would like a z4m but i can't justify the tax and running costs as it'll be a daily. the 3.0 gets decent fuel economy and is cheap enough to run, so i think i'll keep it for a good while yet and gradually do a few more bits to it (facelift rear end and interior make over).

how the hell have you got front parking sensors? never seen them on the front end before! better idea than rear sensors.

Aftermarket ones, I'm disconnecting the front ones. They have Tourette's! And then they don't help you when parking but are happy to shout just driving down a road
Plates make the car look better, ill stop filling your thread once I can make a worthy one lol

they seem a bit of a pain! Reverse parking is easy but some front sensors would be ideal for me as I put mine in the garage now. Had a couple of instances where I nudged some shelving
Just had a play with a focus st. Well, I say play, more like him sitting on my rear bumper whilst I was cruising in traffic, and we both pulled off down a country lane and I quickly left it only doing up to 60-70 but a few times I slowed down for a few seconds to let him catch back up. Was quite comical really.
I know these cars aren't the fastest ever but as I had a focus st previously, I always wondered how they compared. Needless to say, it doesn't. The focus was lovely, comfy and practical, but it loved the wheelspin and understeer.

Yeah I loved my brothers st. I'd have one anyday, but that's good to know you kicked your old cars arse!
My rear sensors work a treat.
Got an idea for you. Just infront of the wall that you drive towards put a bamboo stick stuck into a block of wood on thefloor so it look like an upside down hammer. When you hit it, stop. No damage then

May have to try that one! For now, I spray painted a vertical line on the wall and when my wing mirror is in line with it, I know I am in without touching anything.
Looks pretty pants though.

Ffs. Yet another problem! This car is doing it's beet to get sold
Last 4 or 5 days i've noticed a small trail of liquid on my driveway when getting it out the garage. Kept meaning to smell it but forgot.
This morning, after a night shift at work, I turned the car on and 10 seconds later the coolant warning light came on. It went back off after 2 minutes, so continued my 10 mile journey home.
Had a look this afternoon and there was a damp patch in the middle of the undertray. Took it off and had a look and thought it was the dreaded water pump as there was residue around it. Then noticed it was further up.
Asked my dad to have a look and he said it's not the waterpump, but seems to be the gasket for the thermostat housing. Hopefully thats all it is as it's a £3 fix.
Still annoyed but thats part of buying 2nd hand cars private I guess.

ok so as annoying as the leak is, it's not major in that i'm not losing much, and i hope it's just an o-ring. that'll be sorted next weekend as i can't get the parts until tuesday at the earliest.
here's the bottom of the engine block. it looks like it's coming from the waterpump there, but it's coming from above that, right below the thermostat.
gave the car a good wash and decided to have a go at fitting the freebie exhaust tips.
the old ones had seen better days, and even when cleaned, looked dirty:
easy enough job, one grub screw holding each tip on underneath. removed that then tapped from behind with a hammer until they came loose, then just pull off. that then reveals pikey exhaust tips:
nicely polished tips:
and on:
