4 best teams in the competition are left.
Semi's and the final should be quality, Portugal have enough up front to cause an upset if Del Bosque continues to play without strikers.

I've wanted Portugal to win it from the start, still think it'll be them against Germany in the final.

To me its an easy exit as we were never deserved winners, had we played like we did in the first 30 and gone I would have been pissed off then.

thing is we know we are shite. most england fans still think they are the best team in the world so its funny to see them get all worked up thinking they are going to win every game. then its hysterical to see them fail

I think the blame can be firmly laid at Hodgson's door, his ethos of playing down expectations, all the time, is exactly what he did at Liverpool. You can't play like that an expect to win anything, he got lucky in the qualifying group and got found out against a decent side. He's small time, and anyone expecting anything other than negative and old school tactics (not directing this at you btw ) is going to be dissapointed.

Italy deserved that, apart from the first 25 minutes they were the far better team. Pirlo ran the show. England were blowing out their arses towards the end of the 2nd half. Gerrard & Terry were about the only decent outfield players.
I'm hoping Italy can turn Germany over now for a Portugal v Italy Final.

Can't tell if serious.
Do you really trust a man that think's he has nothing left to learn in football, and still plays 4-4-2 rigidly, to bring through the next crop of youngsters and get them playing to their potential, rather than just occupying very specific areas on the pitch? I have no affection for the national team (at all), if I did, I wouldn't be happy with aiming so low.

I'm only blaming young for shootout loss, I'm not even going into Hodgeson at this point. I'll wait to see what happens in the WC qualifiers to see if he continues with 4-4-2 and the group of players at the Euro's.
We didn't deserve to go through and would of been spanked by ze germans.

I think Johnson was the best player on the park, He made a few vital last minute tackles, He was about the only person on the team would would actually take on a player one on one, when he did it opened things up.

johnson played well, in fact i have no problems with any in our back 5
up front i think we do have some potential, although i wouldnt play rooney, as much as i rate him for united, for country he just doesnt do it.
midfield is where we are terrible, gerrard played well in the tournament but you cant rely on just one player. We are desperately lacking.
