The old Astras had them up there, the only one of the 20XE range that did. The rest lived in the footwell . Just keep it away from the wet.

Pain to do once the looms in the car, I agree with not wrapping it or anything, if any moisture is in there or gets in there it will just fuck it up that way.
Just keep it out the way of water and make sure its up the correct way

Well today handbrake cable number 3 turned up today. Too small now lol. So gonna have to get one about 910mm anyone know one?

Also some will be pleased to know I took out the rear shims too not have any rear camber, and to be honest I didn't really like it just couldn't be assed to take them out straight after lol.

And also had the very lovely job of taking the sump, baffle plate, oil sandwich plate and that today to seal it all up again with some new gaskets and universal blue gasket sealant. Got to put mani back on now, then do the dizzy seal again, dip stick seal and rocker cover. Fill it up with oil. And pray it has stoped the oil leak.

Then hopefully fingers crossed I have my dash back in time.

If you find a decent motor factors, they will be able to find exactly what cable you need.
