It's not. Zoomed in and can see the tarmac a little bit underneath the tyre.
Anyway, just seen an imola m3 with black alloys. It re-affirmed how much I love and want one. Only in coupe form though, I think they look turd as a soft top.
I know about the subframe issue, but are there any other terrible internet stories going around? Engines seem good for high mileage if taken care of and I guess apart from ///M tax on parts, most of the other stuff will be generic E46 prices?

How's that Gav?
Get one Ben, bet they're not much more than you're Z4. Fuel consumption probably similar, tyre sizes the same. Services slightly different but not crippling and every 14k miles so not exactly every 2 months.
Most parts can be had from companies like Eurocarparts, there's certain parts that you'd only want to put BMW on and that's when it can get pricey, but depending what it is you need the 2nd hand market is quality for them. I've just put new trailing arm bushes in, at BMW that's probably £60+, I got OEM quality bushes for £25 from eBay on recommendation.
Little things are common on them, subframe, high pressure power steering hose weeps (£200 from BMW), oil coolers can weep, vanos is often mentioned but nobody I know with an M3 has had an issue. End of the day they're 10 years old now mostly so just bare that in mind and the fact it's a premium car that was 50k new and you won't get any surprises. You need to drive one and see if it's for you definetly :-)
Today I went down to Scott's Performance to get some Turner Motorsport Limiter plates put in which basically limit the side to side movement of the bush within the cage, but because you keep the standard bush you also don't make the car ultra stiff so it's a best of both worlds sort of thing. It certainly wasn't a job to be done on the floor and I'm glad I took it there now.
The old ones weren't actually on bad nick for 66k miles, I expected a lot worse as they've had a hard life! Pushed them out using a special tool
New bush in
Limiter plates bolted to the cage
Fitted & bolted back up
Tracking checked ready for Nurburgring
Oil arrived to do an oil change before Ring, some new hose to replace brake ducting & pagid rs29's for front & rear brakes

You'll need more than 4 litres then, my 330ci takes over 7 litres.

5.5-6 litres, I have some from my last oil change still!
£420 Robin, £225 for fronts £195 rears
They don't really need done but they're on that level where with a few Tourist laps & a trackday I had to make a decision so I'm just gonna swap em out and keep the olds as spares. If I ran out over there it would ruin my trackday and also be ludicrously expensive from Schirmer

Nothing too exciting, just been prepping for Ring next week.
Put some new brake ducting in as old stuff was looking worse for wear, put new pads in
Did oil & filter change and gave her a quick wash today, going to polish it tomorrow as got loads of black rubber marks from Brands Hatch on it.
Then pack the car for Ring

Nurburgring was epic, 28 degrees almost everyday, I'm pretty tanned/burnt now!
Trip started badly after 10 minutes when my auxiliary belt decided to rip in half for an unknown reason on the M25. Luckily Father in law to be was still awake so I asked him to bring an old spare I had down whilst me and my mate Tom stripped a very hot car down to make it accessible for the new part, quite scary being underneath a car whilst lorries whizz past at 50mph! After an hour of first pulling onto the hard shoulder we were back on route but had no missed the train by about 20 minutes I had all the radios that me and my mates had bought so was also a pain of a journey for them
Basically the next train was 3 hours later so we decided to Top gear style try and beat them there, so we travelled onto Dover to see how much a ferry was, long story short we've somehow ended up on the ferry without paying a penny, quite frightening really in regards to security!
So we are now 3 hours behind everyone else and made our way briskly through France, Belgium & Germany. We ended up beating everyone by an hour!
Borrowed my mates selfie stick which was epic fun!
My DN10 number
Nasty accident by 2 cars travelling through Bridge on the first day of the track day which brought the day to an end early on
My morning view wasn't a bad one
The track day was just awesome, someone in the passenger seat of a GT3 RS got this sequence of photos as me and a mate in the white M3 caught and passed it
Had one very bug splattered car by the end of the day!!
My mate blew a coolant hose off his MK1 RS on the way home so all the cars stopped in the hard shoulder, I naturally felt a selfie was needed…this photo for me sums up a great week with a great bunch of lads!
Dramas on the way back as because I hadn't got the eurotunnel on the way there they had cancelled my return journey….many arguments got me nowhere and baring in mind I paid £53 for my return journey they wanted £198 to book me on there and then….they got told to jog on so we had to book a ferry but pay this time lol £95 but we just wanted to get home and I have already sent my complaint to eurotunnel so we'll see if that goes anywhere. So a long ferry journey with screaming school kids finally ended with fuel roulette!
And that was the end of another great Ring trip, perfect weather, good food, lots of fuel and 1350 miles.

Bedford full day, was awesome. Was quite slippery so was really pushing the car to find it's limits.
http://youtu.be/hw4vpQALECY?list=UUsLLrZb0lf-18JTdv5AvTvw
Been busy doing updates to my cooling and oil system which Bedford was a test day for
All removed
Made the lines then the brackets
Viscous fan removed to run electric puller fan
Removing all the plastic leaves a lot more airflow to the radiator. Should help keep temps down on track
