too early to start lambasting managers, i think he did ok, certainly noone else would have done much better
Fine by me Steve, but if you expect him to evolve you're gonna end up dissapointed. He's a dinosaur, and the only way he's ever gonna win anything is by boring the other team to death.

Welbeck should have stayed on. Still had plenty of energy/hunger left.

Sorry, how well did scotland do in this tournament? Fucking brainless idiota.
thing is we know we are shite. most england fans still think they are the best team in the world so its funny to see them get all worked up thinking they are going to win every game. then its hysterical to see them fail
anyone who thinks a team with ashley young and henderson is the best team in the world needs their head checked.
it was obvious from the first game we were good at defending and shite at attacking.

The defence and keeper have been excellent all tournament. Johnson had 1 bad game but then was back to his best last night. Midfield and strikers are a million miles away from the likes of Germany, Spain, Italy and even Portugal.

At least we didn't lose a game, thinking about some sort of a positive. But, in our four games, we only had 11 shots on target, that's like 3 shots on target in each game, 90 minutes of football christ that's poor.

''are you chelsea in disguise?'' would've been an appropriate chant then.

the positives are, great defence, not leaking too many goals, and doing fairly well with a limited squad and a manager that has only been in charge for a handful of games

It's not exactly a positive for the future though is it? Terry was outstanding but will he still cut it in two years time? Same with Cole? Lescott will be near enough 32 as well. As said before the tournament, he should have been bringing in the future national side to gel and see who works. Although I understand the fact he said that he'd give the players who got them there the chance to progress. Surprisingly, I think the future looks decent for England. Naturally time will tell if players can play as well for country as they do with club, but there are a few players waiting for their chance!
Baines isn't exactly a spring chicken but he's a good player, just a shame that wanker Cole is fucking good
Jones, Smalling, Richards and Cahill are just a handful of young(ish), talented players who may get a chance in defence.
Ox looks to have a very bright future, Wilshere (if they can get him fit and back to his best) will be brilliant. Rodwell needs to get over his injuries and show why he's so highly rated, and Adam Johnson just needs a fucking chance
There are a lot of English players who need a few starts for England to see if they can cut it. Henderson isn't one of them
A 4-3-3 with Johnson and Ox supporting a lone striker would be interesting to see!

forgot about cahill, im not too worried about defence, even with the old guard out and the youngsters in, what we desperately need is technically gifted midfielders, ox is a start

You've got Wilshere for a technically gifted midfielder. But then you bring back the same problems you've faced for years when you try to play like for like against the best of Europe. You'll be outplayed from first to last.

20 minutes of decent football is fuckall though? As said, you hit 11 shots on target for the entire tournament. Italy had 18 in that one game The gulf in class was huge. England need a revamp from back to front or they'll be going nowhere.
