He played well for Arsenal last season. I wouldn't mind seeing him at St James even if it was for 1 year.

Looks like we've also done a deal for Remy, 15m euros and a 5yr deal.

aye he played well i agree but he was surrounded by good players. if he comes here he`ll be expected to be that good but he`ll be in a team with lesser skilled players. if we can get him to drop his alleged wage demands it could work out well but from whats happened in the past im not going to hold my breath lol

I thought Riera and Benayoun were pretty good squad players tbh.

Benayoun was and would rather of kept him. Riera has been causing some shit in the changing room apparently and not happy to sit on the bench - and we wont offer him massive wages to do so either.

Not sure yet, loads of figures being banded about.
Probably something like 5m euros with massive % sell of clause.

TBH Riera was OK for us before he got injured - he offered genuine width and was very calm on the ball and always found a pass. He lacked a bit of pace but could beat a man, and for what he cost he was certainly a decent squad player. He just got ideas above his station tbh.

Read today that he'd prefer Liverpool over West Ham, but Nice were waiting for Liverpool to match the £12.5m offer, so guess you've done that

From what Ive read WHU have offered 18m euros but to be paid in 4 instalments. Where as were offering something like 15m but with most of it paid up front and only some of it in instalments.

Must be a rumour. Liverpool have NEVER paid more than £200 up front for a player.

Nah, £200m you mean. Which means we arent like Chavski, City or Man Ure.

Yet his cost per goal is still less than Berbatov.

I know its the Sun but there's quotes and everything
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/3060721/Didier-Drogba-is-in-talks-with-Manchester-City.html
or is his contract due for renewal some time soon and they want to bump his wages up?

On talksport just now saying that ferguson has said no more players are coming in from now (pinch of salt), how would the fans feal about that?
Few mentions that it was gerrard who convinced cole to sign for us, and as far as him leaving chelsea for political reasons, i'm putting 2 and 2 together and guessing it's something to do with john terry
Be happy now with Remy in, Riera and Babel out, Mascherano out (and a new DM in), and 2 new LB's.

I would say that I'd like new expensive players, who wouldn't if you had the chance.
But the team we have now is the same team that pushed Chelsea all the way for the title last season. And they didn't play at their best a lot of the season so we've every chance of getting our PL trophy back this time.
TBH I trust Fergie. He's right more than he's wrong and has the trophies to prove it.
