I saw him 3 times last season and each time he was miles off the pace and was missing chances left right and centre.
Against us he was next to useless and our defenders made him look crap and that takes some doing.

Signed valencia, undisclosed fee, so no doubt all the different papers will have figures varying from 14-19 million for him this week
Too much and he'll need to improve a hell of a lot. Need Benzema now, but i can't see us signing him tbh

I actually wasnt meaning it as bait, more the fact Whelen has already said it'll take a massive offer, plus with the amount you've got for Ronaldo you know clubs are going to take you the cleaners.
And its not like you havent got history paying stupid prices for players.

True, i can't dispute that, even if it's the kettle calling the pot a little bit
Whelan mentioned a couple of weeks ago he had 2 bids, one a couple of million below the other, and it depended on where Valencia wanted to go.
Remember whelan paid 3million for him and has made at least 11million profit on him
I'd like to think we got him for about 14million, but as with you and your over-priced RB, it's not public information

No doubt paid over the odds for him! He's skillful, quick and can cross a ball but I think he needs to up his game a fair bit yet!
Hope I'm proved wrong and he's worth whatever the fee is!
€45m for Benzema (his agent supposedly even said he isn't worth anywhere near the figures being talked about)
Transfer market is all a bit silly after the Kaka and Ronaldo transfers, things need to settle back down first!

I'm not going to expect too much from him, provided hes good down the wing and can pass the ball in etc then he'll be a good addition.
We definately need to replace the goals though.
I'm hoping we have a Benzema back up plan!

There is no such thing as a like for like replacement in modern football, they'll change their style of play accordingly same way they did when they lost Stam/Beckham/VanNistelrooy etc etc.
