To a certain extent though. It's something like below 80-100ft they're able to survive but injuries from heights above that tend to be fatal.
A cats 'righting' mechanism is cool though - HERE and ISS crew demonstrating it in space.

Other way round Dom, over a certain height they survive as they spread out like a flying squirrel and slow down, below that height they tend not to have the time to spread out and slow down, like opening a parachute too low I guess.

Yup, it seems you are right in that it is the other way round. Although i'm still not convinced that if you threw a Cat out at 5000ft it'd survive

There was a guy that, supposedly, threw a cat and a chicken out of a Cessna.
Cat survived, chicken didn't.
