I was out at 8am this morning doing 20 miles xc car temp read -2.
Was fucking cold. But once your up and running its fine.
However just layer up. I had a beanie under my helmet. Woolie freebie gloves under my usual fingerless riding gloves. Thermal base layer, Fleece jumper and windproof/water jacket on top. I just wear Endura Humervee shorts and finally some Sealskins socks.
Plus a dose of mtfu!

Sealskin socks any good? I got some gloves which are ok, not sure they were worth the £25 I paid for them.

Yeah better than normal sports socks plus my shoes I wear aint waterproof. I always end up with wet feet as I'm a bit of a child and tend to ride through all the puddles.
Today I was aiming for the big ice puddles and seeing if I could ride over them, plus I fitted a new front tyre the other day (conti rubber queen black chilli) so wanted to see what grip was like when trying to ride over the ice without it breaking. Had a couple or failures and ended up in about a 1-2ft of water, with all the splashes etc, my feet were bone dry when I got home.
They are expensive at about £25 a pair, but there is nothing worse than wet feet on a cold day.

I bought some Nike running tights to wear on bike. Not dared wear them yet. Might be wearing them for footy on Saturday though at this rate (training kids not playing)

But you did it which is the main thing. Eventually you will smash out that 19 mile route and cruise up that last hill like it was nothing!

Lands End to John O'Groats, good fun, not as daunting as it sounds if you train reasonably for it.

Broken in 2 places. They reckon 3-4 weeks healing time. Will find out more when I visit the fracture clinic on Monday.

Yeah. Think I'm going to be out of action until march, then probably end up spending a couple of months taking it easy and trying to regain fitness and stamina.

The lengths people go to get out of riding with Cole!!
Just been to see a mate who is a personal trainer to find out my lactic thresholds and heart rate zones so I can step my game up.
Made me think about getting a turbo trainer :s

I'm going to go to that. It's not far to travel for me and when they were talking about trying to get it to Yorkshire one of the places they wanted it to go through or near was Skipton which is pretty handy for me.
