well, i think will94 turned up just in time tonight! as he arrived i was just moving the xe out of the carport for its maiden voyage, and the verdict .... it works. its still abit tappy at the top end but nothing a good drive shouldnt sort out

its all up and running now. took it for a drive this eve and covered 7miles lol. then the oil pressure sender unit decided to leak and sprayed oil onto my hot manifold. a quick tighten with a couple spanners and its sorted!

well as in true xe fashion, its dead again. ive covered just 120mils and its lost oil presure again. ive removed and cleaned the relief valve but still no pressure

the thing i cant get my head round is out the bit of swarf that was jamming the relief valve got there. its far too big to get through the sump strainer. bout 1mm thick x 3-4mm long. it didnt look like bearing material. wish i could just send it off somewhere else to get done
