I will make the effort to get up there and watch. Stage finishing in London will be easy for me to get to but will see what the stages are like before I commit to anything. Long way off yet anyway!!

First proper ride out in ages yesterday. Been having nightmare with chain and had to take forks apart several times. Was filthy out but was just glad to have a ride without mechanical failure! Anyone got any biking goodies on a Xmas list? I stuck a garmin device on but think vouchers may be received instead

First ride out in 9 weeks today only 13 miles felt like 33miles and it took 3hrs this was just down to the conditions pouring rain and gale force winds up on the south downs then into my local forest where it was just thick mud so glad I got new tyres but need my new brakes ASAP as mine are shot to shit

Anyone signed up to the January Strava challenge? It's just to cycle as many miles as possible for the month so no target to reach as such, gives a bit of motivation though.
There is a challenge at the moment that was to ride 500km between xmas and new year, the top guy has done >1500km! knocking out 130mile rides every day. Mental

Some of the Strava challenges are ridiculous and some of the rides people clock up are....... suspicious.
I havent been out on my bike for about 3 weeks. Set myself a ride up for this coming saturday just a short one to get going again then ill go for a longer one on Sunday.
50 miles over the weekend ill be happy.
Moving house soon which moves me further from work so will be cycling in instead of walking. Got my eye on a Charge Plug for the commute.

Yeah I have assumed most of the people at the top are either pro or have nothing else in their lives ie. nagging wife. I'm going to strava my commutes for Jan to up the miles.
Done a few rides around local woods over xmas, the mud is ridiculous though, off and pushing up a number of the steepest climbs and 5-10 shoes are not ideal for slippy slopes

Yeah same endomodo.
You look at the top 5 in distance challenges and its always the same 5 winning the prizes.
One guy is this random old looking bloke who is doing about 150-200 miles a day!

Simon my local woods are the same went out this morning took me 40mins to do a climb that's normally 20mins (10 mins if you are fit) and that was just due to the mud etc

Should only allow GPS tracked mileage.
Then again i suppose if you cheat and add miles you are only cheating yourself!

I shipped my bike over to brissy and it turned up about a month ago. Not been on it in ages so just been building up some fitness on the roads and cycle ways. Can easily do 40 miles now. Been out on the trails just once and it was pretty smart. Theres a place called Mnt Coot-tha just outside of Brisbane with a variety of trails for different levels of rider. I tackled all the intermediates and it was really good fun. Gonna go back and try the black runs next time. Some of the uphills were a killer though. It's crazy how unfit you can get in the space of 12 months!

Specialized Demo 7. Pretty old though, bought in France in 2007.
Cove Hustler even older for the XC stuff.
Did a night ride tonight:

Not sure if it will load as I didn't make the workout public.

What Cycle GPS does everyone use?
Strava looks good but the iPhone battery is terrible. I was looking at Garmin ones?
