old bushes
new nylon ones. my random mate slick bent the part of the linkage that was touching the steering rack then re-fitted it all. gear change is much nicer. had been fair sloppy for a while. bushes were fairly perished, so all is sort of well. all gears back and stuff.
not sure what to do with it next. possibly do the poly bushes next month.

indeed. piece of utter piss to get the linkage out aswell. i was fearing troubles. im going to get the f28 quick shift thing and fit the rear gearbox mount spacer at some point soon though for reasons that will become clearer when it gets done.

Getting my M-Tech fitted once I have found the parts I can to rebuild my box. Loved my F20 one and the standard linkage feels so crap compared to it

ive never drove one with one. i mean i dont think mine feels bad to change gear with now. them bushes seemed to sort a bit of it out. maybe as the original ones are 15 years old perhaps. after 4 years this s the first issue ive ever had with the gear linkage. ive done alright i reckon. well kinda. its just paying 80 odd quid to lmf for one that sickens me slightly.

And the fact they take around 3 weeks to get to your house is a bit shit too.

took couple of pics seen as i put the bumper back on of how badly it fits. mostly arround the passenger side of the car. the driver side isnt quite as bad so didnt take a pic of that.
annoys me a fair bit really.
also ive tried to clean a couple of the silicone pipes a bit. some have come up a fair bit better so im happy about that. also moved a couple of wires about. going to try to tidy the bay up a bit make it all look a touch neater. thinking about moving the throttle cable so it comes from the other side and zip tie it to the strut brace perhaps.
seen as necastle have just been relegated and its quite a sad day for me, i think im going to go take it out for a bit drive and cheer myself up a little. hopefully nothing will go wrong and give me a double whammy of sadness on this sunny sunday.
championship here we sadly come. rick draper, feel free to joke away. its nothing i havent had via textr message already i bet.

Exactly like my old one nic
Was like this -
It was due to this bit bending and not staying in the bracket -

half my problem is tat the wing bolt that goes through the bumper is some random thing and wasnt glued back in the right place so the arch doesnt fit right also meaning the bumper cant go back far enough. although it will still sit a bit shit.
i wonder if its where i had the centre bit smoothed and filled. annoyingly the bumper i sold to mo off here fitted great.

True, had mine resting on a chair for a week or so in the garage. Its badly twisted now. Had to twist it back and rest it evenly on the floor. Its not as bad now luckly
