Houllier not completely closed the book on a deal for Young either.

If that and Adam goes through our net spend would be along these lines...

£23m - Saurez
£35m - Carrol
£20m - Young
£8m - Adam
Free - Warnock Loan
Total = £86m

Out
£48m - Torres
£7m - Babel
Total = £55m

Net Spend of around £31m. That would be a major improvement on our squad and all of those players are under 25....

Talksport apparently saying the deal for Torres is £48m AND Anelka.

Carlton cole? Although you've got a couple of big young lads already haven't you, so maybe Ashley will just pocket it?

Doubt we'd bring anyone in this late
Pardew seems determined to bring in Bothroyd but don't see that happening until the summer
Who is there to bring in now? It's been left so its pretty much impossible to find anyone in time.

I god hope we don't get Carlton Cole

It's far too big an offer to turn down for somebody who has played less than 20 premier league games.

But, I can't see us spending the money on strengthing the team therefore the amount is useless really.

It's Charlie Adam, no 'S'. Would make sense but I reckon Holloway is taking Fergie's comments too literally rather than seeing them as a way of pushing the price up for LFC.

Bad news for Luton, highly regarded as their best player. Although £150,000 isnt too bad i suppose.

Earned us £150k in 6 months and covers every player purchase this season. Can't grumble.

Does this mean you'll have to buy Nolan so Carroll can still live with him?

Interesting stats - if Liverpool pay £35million for Andy Carroll they are getting a player outscored in the Championship last season by Peter Whittingham, Nicky Maynard, Gary Hooper, Michael Chopra and Charlie Adam.
