Yeah! Feeling pretty chuffed with myself for having saved up and sold a few things to fund this.

Joined a club in the new forest over the weekend so I can get involved in their time trials. Run a league system over 10, 10 mile TTs, 3 divisions so I guess ill be in the bottom one. Looks like a good set up.

Going on my first training ride with them on my next Saturday off on the 19th Jan. 50 miles with a 15-16 mph average.

Got a load of MTB events to get involved in too! Exciting year ahead!

I just did a ride and used Strava. App is ok I guess. Best features are the segments and ranking you against other people, plus the 500m-1km exclusion zone around your house so people don't know where you live.

When I finished it, it said the ride is 14.9 miles. I know for a fact it is not that long as I've done it loads of times. Once I synced it up, it reduced to just under 10 miles.

I'd share the Ride but Strava is down for maintenance or some rubbish.

I still prefer Sports Tracker, which does a calorie count and if you take pictures in the app, it records them on your route!

Strava website is great, the app as you say is 'ok'. I use my garmin and upload to strava after the ride and have been on rides with a mate who uses the app on his phone. My rides are often shorter but with more elevation gain.

I used to use Sports Tracker and sent them suggestion ages ago about doing the photos along the route thing!

I've just got a turbo trainer - as it's too dark when I get back from work at the moment.

I'm using it to try to get competitive to do a few races later this year. Following a few of these training routines (mainly HIIT ones):

- Anyone else use one?

Not at the moment, Paul. I will probably get one when I start time trialling to help me work on my position.

Can anyone recommend a decent, not vastly expensive front light for a bike? Mine is ok for town etc but where I live in the country its pitch black can barely see where I am going at night.

£20 ish would be nice or slightly cheaper.

there is one linked to on ebay a few pages back, just factor in a few weeks delivery. Alternatively order the same light from a uk seller but it may be a little more
