Believe it or not, untouched lacquer is when the car is at its truest colour... maybe the doors where painted off the car at a different time from the shell of the car???

3 pots were used on our corsa. Also if the ratios arent spot on if the doors ect were sprayed seperatly you would have a different density of flakes...

I get what you mean. But, the doors had been flatted, and compond polished, and the rear quater pannels had not - they had just been roughed down, this meant that there were big cloudy patches on the paint work from where it wasn't finished. All my fault cos I just wanted the car back, and I picked it up too soon

Iaz... Public update for you mate.

Never got quite as much done as planned... Barry really put me off ...

I got the bumper, mirrors, scuttle and spoiler insert done. I got the whole car flattened down and the car is masked up sitting in the booth with the bonnet ready for its second application of clear coat. That will be done at 9am tomorrow morning and then baked should be ready for a quick flatten and polish just before lunch. Then we'll build the car back up and it'll be ready to go home.

Well for those wanting a sneak peak, if you live near a motorway, keep your eyes open as the car is on its way home without the covered... it was flapping about like hell in the wind and could have damaged the paint. Car looked absolutely stunning, hope everyone likes it
