I suggest you look up torque and read what it is

I fcukin know what torque is!!!!
The point im making is that honda are able to make these variable cam engines very well beating every engine in its class for reliabilty and power full stop, u can talk about 'oh but if it didnt have V-tec it would be same as any other engine' BUT IT DOES!!! this is what im saying, Mitsubishi had a go with the Mivec, didnt work, was a more advanced 3 stage progresive cam system that keeps breaking.

Surely all the new Mazda's and Toyota's are just as good since they use a system of variable valve timing and are just as reliable as the Honda engines. Even the Ford Duratec engine's are well known for their reliability.

whatdoes that matter. you said "beating every engine in its class for reliabilty and power full stop" wehenteh CTR clearly does not do the above. also aspiration is irrelavent. honda use VTEC to make nearly 200hp from a 2.0L engine. VAG use a turbo to make 225ps from a 1.8, GM and ford use a turbo to make over 200ps from a 2.0L

Agreed. VTEC is the key behind Honda's success.

I've bought about 20 VTEC resistor mod chips off ebay for various cars and they've all added VTEC power to my cars - ranging from Corsas and Mondeo's to a Land Rover discovery and a Flymo.

127kW @ 7000RPM
196Nm @ 5500RPM
