so what MPH would an x16xe with an f15cr box and 180bhp do with a 8000 rpm limit?

130 in a 1.4 lol, pfffttt im taking my 1.6 out and putting my old 1.4 back in, how silly was i.

my 1600 goes to 128 ish on the limit in 5th

It won't pull that high in 5th im sure.

Put it this way, Andy Hamiltons had 214bhp, and was flat out at 135mph on a standard box. Could have gone more with more runway, but realistically, it won't be hitting over 145.

with the gearing on an F15CR and an 8000rpm rev limit, 160mph is possible

That doesn't mean it'll do 8000rpm in 5th though Not enough power.

Corsa isn't the most areodynamic of cars.

Also, don't forget Akeemkings 300+bhp LET corsa only tops out at 164mph.. NO 1.6 16v NA corsa is ever going to get near that speed.

yes Marc, i cant see it happening without forced induction of some sort, and then the torque would kill the box therefore render it pointless

It won't happen. Even a super 1600 Rally corsa couldn't hit 160 even if it had the gearing.

Dave, no offence, but a 180bhp 1.6 will never get to 160mph, ever!!! As i say, if Akeemkings 300+bhp LET can only get to 164 being a 2.0 16v, how can a 180bhp 1.6 16v do 4mph less with smaller everything....? It isn't going to happen And Andys 35bhp+ more power only hit 135.

Monkey - Was he on an F15. Still defeats the point... Theres no way he would reach those speeds.

Lucky B had a 2.0 16v, 250+bhp and hit 147mph (although still pulling). 60bhp less, MUCH less torque, and 400cc less will not give you 160mph.
