I agree with this. Its abit like 106's, standard ones look uttter shite, but get a nice phase 1 rallye, xsi or a gti and its a completely different sexual car.

Itsa clear by what he plans on doing with the car that he will be better with a Vtr. He doesnt plan on doin much work and a Vtr will leave a 1.4 8v OR a 16v for dead whether it be in a straight line or round the twisties, so it should be a clear choice imo

well ive had a brand new vtr and a brand new vts in the past
depends on what u want out of this car your buying !
cheapest fastest option is vtr and drop a vts lump in it. you can get a vts engine £300-£500 which will kill a vtr/sri/gsi
although ifu intended keeping corsa then buy a LET engine for it
if its just a car for 12 months, then id buy the vtr ! 90bhp early ones or x plate on were 98 then after 51 they went 100bhp

yeah but you will look a bit different and have a sense of achievement that you wouldnt get with the saxo.
tuned 1.4 16v all the way.
i mean i know corsa's havent got the best reputation but saxos are just an out and out chav car IMO

saxos are deffo faster than any of the std corsas ! i raced loads of sri and gsi and my vtr was the 90bhp engine, used to sit all over gsi's
a vtr will pull 120-125mph too
a vts will pull 130mph std

why not get a fiesta zetec-s? faster than both corsa and paxo, handle a lot better, look a lot nicer and sound really nice even as standard

Something is seriously wrong there then, a mk2 wouldnt be able to do that

lol
my god there is some crap in this thread now
1.2 punto, extrememly slow, my mates old corsa 1.4 16v used to kill me mates ols s reg. punto sporting. my vtr had full zorst n de cat and air filter n superchip so nothing fancy, it could push gsi corsas around all day long!
and as for the comment on a fiesta zetec s ! me mates got one now, handles ok i guess but not a patch on a lowered saxo/106. and they are also nothing exciting! i wouldnt back down to one in a VTR ! i embaressed a couple of them back in 2000 when i had my vtr after we'd had a play they thought i was a VTS until i opened my bonnet
lol
VTR seems best option so far if he doesnt want keep car.
if he wants keep it... get a corsa !

not surprising...aren't the zetec-s only 90bhp
