Also more focus on lane discipline, maybe make it an offence to stray into other lanes on the motorway when the adjacent lane is clear

I think in Germny, they have speed cameras on the autobahns, and you're fined for not doing a minimum speed in a particular lane, in other words if you're slow, keep to the inside

They have the right idea!! Less accidents than us also!!

you infered it when you asked him;

"how did you pass your test"

kind of infers he cant drive or drives like a wanker.

And to be fair you have no idea how competent of a driver he is.

no that wasnt in reference to hsi driving capability, was more to his highway code knowledge claiming that 'half of accidnets happen as peopel are tempted to overtake cause the car infront is driving too slowly'

Well I doubt she was responsible for the crash when she was a passenger, and unless she slammed the car in reverse and rammed the guy at the roundabout I doubt that was her fault either.

its a good idea, but will need a lot of work. at the end of the day its down to the sensibility of the driver. I know some 17 year olds who could drive a high powered car sensibly within the restrictions of the law. I also know 17 year olds who i'd love to kick the shit out of because their driving causes my insurance quotes to be high.

if you read my initial argument, wasnt about how accidents are caused, it was about the safety of when to overtake....something im pretty sure is covered when learnign to drive

right i really cant be bothered to argue as its pointless, but you were just trying to belittle him (like you do an awfull lot on here to people) and come across as your a better driver than his is.

Apparently condoms are much more reliable than people think, it's just that lots of people give the "condom broke" excuse when getting the MAP or an abortion, thereby skewing the figures.

i didnt say i was a better driver and not belittling him at all....as couple people actually understood what the point i was making and agreed, it was refering to the comment about overtaking because someone infront of you drives slowly, but cool if you agree, just please dont do it when im in oncoming lane

They get cheaper insurance cos they're more likely to die in an accident and therefore not claim maybe?

I think it is a good idea to be honest, and also offer a wider range of lessons, I'd been learning for about 4-5 months, but i only had about 20 lessons thats all the learning i had as i didnt go out supervised with family etc.

When i passed i thought i would be able to drive etc... But within the first couple of weeks i have spent driving i have come across a lot of different situations and different roads that i am not familiar with.

I would be interested in doing the pass plus, but costs a lot of money, and to be honest have done most of the things the pass plus teaches you to do alone...

They do say that young drivers are still learning to drive for many years ahead of them, i totally agree with that comment!
