I think this comes back to my original discussion with Robin about 'watching' and actually 'driving' a car...
two totally different things entirely

for me i hate the image and owners more than the car itself, it is not as good as most owners make out and that is from driving one aswell.
that doesn't mean its a particularly bad car.
again personally i couldnt live with the lack of torque and other characteristics of the car.
aside from this the car has a chav/boyracer image, well round my way anyway.
i dont like the looks or interior but all personal preference, doesnt tick many boxes for me

I like my CTR
Go and have a drive of one & make your own mind up.
What sort of price are you looking to pick one up for?
As said, a lot of people will just jump on the bandwagon without having had any first hand experience in one.
All cars have their pros & cons

the reason its got the chav image is because its a mass produced hot hatch, like the saxo vts, clio 172/182, golf gti etc all of which will have a certain amount of chav owners.
i dont get the no torque arguement either, it has the same as any other 2.0l car out there and i havnt known anyone to sell there 2.0l to get something with more 'torque'. i could easily live with the torque a ctr produces and im driving a TD at the mo

I test drove one, it was alright and a lot faster than the 1.4 Sport I had at the time. Didn't really excite me enough though. Plus, 17k was a lot of money to spend.

i think its the fact you have to wait til stupid revs until you get any torque so makes it seem even worse, especially if your used to turbo torque

i like the CTR, when i test drove a couple before buying a clio a found them quick, with a good driving possition. The lack of feed back or driver involvment which people complain of is there but by no means more than any other jap machine.

They didn't release the CTR in Championship white, Just Milano Red, NightHawk Black( ) Cosmic Grey & Satiin Silver.
No doubt 90% of the people slating the CTR in this thread have never even been in one let alone driven one, They are Great little cars, Maybe for a more informed Source of Information you should sign up here: http://civictype-r.co.uk/phpbb2/viewtopic.php

yeah JDM comes in white and also with an lsd, so if you can nab one of those then ur onto a winner.
i personally really like the CTR, driven one and found the position to be very nice and easy to drive, reasonably quick and didnt notice the lack of torque to be a massive problem. nice cars for the money and bullet proof!
astra GSI and the CTR similar but people always seems to sway to one side.
best of is to test drive both and see which you prefer.

they are not bullet proof just because they havent one "vtec system" go wrong doenst mean the rest of the car or engine wont go wrong.
