Rick, well spotted. Hadn't noticed that... Remember Ade (previous owner) mentioning it had some Ecotec bits on it, just always thought it was the flywheel.

Yeah he's got one of those engines as well... Just at the time we we're all caining his a55 with XE Torque in Nova's and Corsa's. So he went for the biggest Capacity lump he could get his hands on with the hope of having a good slice of Torque.... hence the H22 from a Prelude.
Hang on, might of got my engines mixed up... Is the K20 the CTR engine or the CRV lump?
Dam japs, why do they make sooo many engine choices haha

Hi guys. Ermmm i picked the h22a for cost to power mainly. I picked up the prelude for £400, admitedly it had an electrical fault but im pritty handy with obd1 wiring harnesses so that wastn't a problem. You cant get a decent K20 lump for less then £1000. I havent done alot of research into k20's but i knew i could mount my eg4 harness on the h22 and just lengthen wires and add afew more. A K20 is an option for the future but i like big cc's so it would prob have to be a k24 with a k20 head.
In my garage i have a B20B bottom end with B16a2 head, thats what neil was on about. Also i have a B18C4 which is getting a monster build. Heres a couple of photos of it.
The standard sleeves have been machined out and ductile iron sleeves have been fitted for max boostage.
Some crower rods with JE pistons. Iv still got to set the C/R but all in good time.

It depends on what you want out of a CRVtec conversion. If you just want a bit more torque from 1.6 then its a brilliant swap to do. Aslong as you dont want to take the engine higher then 8000rpm very often then there shouldn't be a problem. Im sure some people could tell storys of reving them to 9000rpm all day long but i suppose not all engines are the same. They have got thinner walls as the bottom end is just a bored out 1.8 but it depends what you want form it.
I dont know what the B18 is going in yet. I have a problem of building engines and then running out of cars to put them in.

31st December
Small Update
Dan's 5lb Nitrous bottle turned up... (much to his delight)
Put the grinding wheel on the drill and brushed down as much of my block as I physically could, and did the rest with a wire brush.
Then gave it a coat of gloss black high temp resistant paint (not the best finish in the world but you won't see it once the Turbo/Manifold and pipework are in place)
Found out yesterday that my EPAS Unit defo is gravity fed (Doh!) so decided to lose the battery tray completey in favour of a new lower shelf to mount the pump on.
It was a pig to remove
And unfortunetely a number of holes were made in the process (looks like someones machine gun'd the engine bay) lol. Some of the holes were already there because they had bolts going through holding on various bits from the last engine.
And finally I etch primered all the bare metal area's from the otherday's welding.

6th January
I little bit of an update, not very interesting stuff but I thought i'd post it anyway.
I have received the front tie bars back from the Powder Coaters so fitted the Poly bushes and some new bottom ball joints.
Picked a few random bits and bobs up from Vauxhall
Received my new Top Mounts from CompBrake
Fitted a new Cambelt to my engine
And finally spent a few hours removing the front wings and 240 grit Wet & Dry'd engine bay along with removing a few of the brake lines ready for some paint later in the week hopefully
Also started cleaning up inside the arches

Awesome project Neil. I did wonder what was happening with the ATC 8 valve?
I'm fitting the same PAS setup to my Nova. Ive just bought Corsa track rods for it, so if you want to swap your shortened Nova arms for my Corsa length ones let me know. Would save me some homework atleast.
Keep it up!

Cheers
