I'm 23, moved into this house 3 months ago, but rented dads house for a year or so. So have been living 'in my own place' since i was 22.
Dont rush into it just to keep up with your mates though ollie, thats probebly the worst reason to do it. If you're happy living with your parents then stay until you're both ready to get your own place. Enjoy being young a bit longer and having some money to spend on fun stuff like the VXR etc.

I'd sooner live with my parents on £100 a month board than throw away money for the sake of independance renting.
I'm 25, can't afford a house and have to wait to save a deposit and for my g/f to get her arse in gear and get a decent job.
I think with higher interest rates and fuel bills, a lot of people will struggle, so houses may free up as the market reaches its upper limit - there's only so much the country can take of high interest, tax and fuel bills.
Shame the houses are taken my single owners - when families lived together the demand was lower as more people shared. Plus the ever increasing population doesn't help.

23 renting apartment with a mate. I know it's dead money but tbh my mum sold our family home and moved about 10 miles away. I don't think of it as being forced into it although I wouldn't have even considered it if she hadn;t of moved
On the plus side I really enjoy having my own place, just don't love the bills so mcuh.
I can't see my getting a deposit sorted whilst renting, but am young free and single so not gonna worry about that until I need to
I might just save up and wait for a recession
