YOU DONT USE LACQUER ON FLAME RED
on mine I have painted drivers door skirts arches front bumper, no lacquer used if its dull it needs to be wet flat and polished
dont look that dull to me

so many expertsputting lacquer on a flat colour that aint supposed to have it(see chart above) to try and cover the poor paint job and make it shine is a bodge.

yeah think it may be bodyshop time now anyway, and as iv said before I really dont know how to get through to them its the finishing that will make it shiney not a lacquer which I have clearly proved you dont need.

I fitted my front arches today. The car looks better Had to take the wheels off and jack the car up, then take the inner arches off. I got to use my axle stands which i bought from Halfords
Next up is to spray the back arches, they should be easier to remove and fit because there is no inner wheel arch.
I'm waiting for the arrival of the debadged grill as well now. I'll get some pics up tomorrow

Hopefully the grill will come tomorrow. I put the front arches back on yestarday and gave her a wash today. Here are some pics:
Crap photo but shows the scratch that i made
As you can see back arches need to come off at some point and be painted.
So as i said, hopefully the grill will come tomorrow and i can fit that.

IMO, i would save your cash up and paint the arches & bumper tops matt black, the colour coding doesnt seem to suit it for some reason
Nice project base though, should have fun, and learn a lot working on it

Yup, indeed. Taking the bumpers off and arches, inner arches wheels atc... has been fun
I would love a set of black gsi wheel for it, but don't want to pay alot
The colour coding actually looks ok for using cans, just wish i had spent more time sanding the bumpers.

Same place you got yours matey. Think it was Monday i ordered it.
Doubt there would be any gsi alloys at the scrappy.
Deano, do you think putting 15" alloys on would effect the driving in anyway ? You know with all that power we have...

haha ok mine wasn't that slow, may be contact them asking if it was despatched?
I don't think 15's would make much difference, especially if you don't do a lot of motorway driving. I'd go 16's (i.e. Irmschers max!). I have been told they do do 13" Irmschers, so we wouldn't lose any speed

15" is the max i would go, i travel about 15-20 miles ish each way to college for three days a week. Shouldn't make much of a difference.

Naaa I think you'd be all right. You'll just have to leave earlier but going slowly will save petrol

ive changed the 13" steelies with 14" sport alloys and havent noticed any change in handling.

Hmmm, just phoned up my step dad (i'm at my dads house atm) He said the last email he got from them was:
Thank you for your order, we will email you when it has been dispatched.
He hasn't had an email since. I'll email them tomorrow and ask them about it.
