craig, if u cannot see the potential in him, you need to take these off
no, Im not saying he hasnt been impressive as he really has been.
But to value someone at £18m after having a good half season probably isnt right!!

Generally fair although I can't see Scholes or Giggs being worth much regardless of their undoubted quality... you just dont see the older players going for much :S

Whats the basis for Sissoko being worth 15 million then

I know no non-Liverpool fan will understand that, but ask ANY liverpool fan and they will tell you how amazing he is.
Easily Rafa's best buy for the price he was (£5.5m)

Ask any Man U fan and he'll say the same thing about Vidic though

Yeah, but a big difference from a player doing it for half a season (wasnt even in the team at beginning of this season) and then another who has been here 18months.

I doubt Sissoko has played even ten more games for Liverpool than Vidic has for Man U and I don't even take that keen an interest in the Premiership. So that's that out the window.

played twice as many games (63 to 33)

All in the Premiership?
Irregardless another 30 games isn't the difference between being valued at nothing and 50 million.

If Vidic has played half a season with 33 games and Sissoko 18months with 63 games, project the game rate and by the 18month period Vidic will have nearly 100 games under his belt, if fit.

I never projected his value, I was making an estimation based on information put infront me on here.
Which leads to the question? How can you rate a player's worth on appearances? and does the amount of appearances affect the way a player plays his game?

my point on appearences was this...
he has played well for about 4/5months (didnt start the season in the first team and was piss poor last season). But you cant say a player is worth £18m just off a good 4/5months, christ even Josemi/Garcia had a good first few months with us but didnt mean either of those were worth 18m.

I agree, plus defenders should never be rated that highly anyway, strikers win games, defenders get draws.

I dont see a problem with defenders being rated that high, just not off a few good months.
I wonder what Utd fans would of rated him at between Jan and July last season when he was shocking!?

Good point, but you have to allow people time to adjust in to a team. Especially when its a differant style, look at Evra.
Maybe I should reconsider my valuation of Carrick come next season!!!

Yeah, I have no doubt he will probably get better, I certainly wasnt saying he was a bad player. Just that putting 18m on someone who has played well for so little time is a little crazy!
And no, Carrick is, and always will be over priced shite.
