Yeah think that McLaren "apparently" told Rooney he hadn't played a decent game since 2004 and Rooney threw a wobbler and threw his football shirt (or something) across the changing room.

He is being played as a striker though, he isn't an out and out striker.

How the fuck he hasn't worked out a formation to suit his best players is beyond me, the strikers are doing fuck all so gerrard should be in the middle and be given abit of free reign to shoot.

Beckham should be on the bench at least, if we had thrown him for the last 30 mins he probably would have created something from a set-piece.

Mclaren is a full-on badger.

I meant in theory, we are not scoring in any matches so him being on the bench is an extra option when the rest of the team aren't performing.

The manager doesnt need to be English, just English speaking. Just a proven manager at the top level who has shown he can win things.

Why? Just because he managed Arsenal? What a pathetic attitude to have towards your national team, especially if we were ever lucky enough to have one of the best managers in the world

Noo don't take Wenger away

The whole Oh we need an english person is just a load of rubbish.

There 'might' be a bit of moaning on appointment but I bet if 6 months down the line they are playing well and winning no-one will give a flying whoot where he is from.

One of the big problems is all the good managers are funny enough in a job. If they are so good they would not be out of a job and chances are if they are doing well the club will not want to let them go.

As for McClaren. I think any football supporter could have done as good a job as hes done.

Just out of curiosity who would you appoint, given the choice of any of the worlds top managers?

not sure TBH, would like to see an english manager, although wouldnt complain if someone like scolari etc got us playing well.
Whilst managers refuse to remove poor performers from the squad and just keep them in because of the name we wont improve

Wenger is a good call. The football would be nice to watch for a change.
