I'd buy a drift car and a Lambo, and just live off of the rest by buying random things and going out. I wouldn't quit my job though, I enjoy it too much!

personally i would clear all debts, sort myself out with NIce car and house, no more than 300k so i can afford the council tax and bills etc, then i would invest the remaining money (being £600k ish) i would continue working but my plan would be to retire by my early 50's if not before.
If you bought a house out right then living off the £40k odd interest you could rack up on what you didn't spend would be very comfortable.

300k on a house in the UK, 100k on a wee holiday home somewhere, rented out when not in use. Would get a nice but sensible daily driver - New M5 springs to mind. Keep on working for aslong as I can be bothered (just started a new job anyway, sounds exciting...) then retire nice and early, live comfortably yet not excessivley

I'd buy an Astra VXR and give the rest to charity.

You need to not spend it all in order to live off the interest.
It would buy a big-ish car, a nice-ish house and enough time to enjoy them both. Nothing too flash though unless you invested it properly and worked on whatever you were backing.
I would put half in the bank and split the other half between a big house and the cars I want now but can't justify. Going crazy with it would be very regretful when you consider the advantage in life it gives you. To blow it would be to squander that advantage.
