im sorry but that would still handle badly, stupid power in a tin can and a relatively heavy engine
also coilovers do not = good handling automatically and i can nothing else in there your changing to make it handle? apart from the weight loss and cage

Setting up the coilovers properly is the key Steve.

yes but it doesnt make any difference what you do to the suspension, the chassis design and geometry, is more important to handling than the shocks and springs imo

The fact that the Nova has a rear beam, not fully independant suspension is one of the most obvious things.

I disagree.
Grasstrack/rallycross Novas handle, they have standard suspension pickup points, just are corner weighted and camber adjusted etc, they handle.

They would handle better if they were converted to IRS and had a suitable ARB.

Where have i been comparing them? I even said a m3 handles better
The whole time i have been stating that in my opinion id have a concours nova over a m3, but people seem to be thinking im saying a nova is better. Its actually immposible to have a adult conversation on this forum isnt it

I'd say this looks like a comparison to me. A comparison of quality, not handling. Seem to have gone off on a tangent really...

What's wrong with that though?
You know as well as I do Ed, a concourse car will be cleaner than one fresh off a production line.

Again im meaning in my own opinion, not in general. Id rather own or see a immaculate concours nova than m3 anyday.

They would be as clean as eachother really, the concourse car would have more attantion to detail on things like nuts and bolts and hidden stuff, but essentially the BMW would have been built to a higher standard because it's a BMW and the reason people buy £40k cars over £8k cars is because they are higher quality. That and the fact that a Nova was built and designed using very limited technology by todays standards. Take for example your average hatch. For £8k these days you get full air bags, CD player, A/C, independant suspension on some vehicles, torsion bars on others. ABS brakes. The list goes on. Now if you can get this stuff on the lowest end of cars, thing about what technology is being used on a car where the budget for building and designing it is tenfold.

Like I said, a standard M3 WOULD be outhandled by DHDev's or Lee Hersey's Novas.
Ask them what their Nurburgring lap time were.
If they're quicker times, that would indicate that the Nova handles better, wouldn't you say? The M3 will definitely have the legs on the straights...
