As already said by some people, the sound will make you feel like you are going faster, but in reality it won't be going any quicker, slightly slower if anything. And as said again, head onto ebay and look for a Magnex exhaust, a good sound and not too OTT

You'll prob lose power due to it sucking in hot air at times, but If your happy with the sound of it then I wouldnt bother with what anyone on here says to be honest.
After all its your car.

Tbh it won't really make much of a difference anyway its not as if you've bought it to be a sports car

Not really. It will make it sound nicer, but a backbox alone won't do anything. A full system exhaust would be better, but those cost quite a bit more. And even that won't do much on its own.

LOL steve
backboxes can make it sound the same as a full system. won't give any bhp i wouldn't think but you'll have a deep/louder exhaust note depending what you want.

all this "will make you slower" stuff might not be true.
Anyone watch 'vroom vroom', they had an astra with an induction and it inproved 1/4mile time. Not much....but it did.

The term "induction kit" is a horrible term made up to make boy racers buy them. It just means a better air filter lol

Nathy - Those Max Power induction kits are crap, my girl had 1 on her corsa and it the car just generally didnt run as well/smoothly and was a touch slower. maybe you can get a BMC induction kit as this will allow a lot less if any warm air in, other thing you could do is get a panel filter and drill the bottom of the airbox. it will still sound good this way with a backbox
