Like that simple pass Gerrard did and he fucked it up. Could see what Gerrard was thinking by the look on his face.

Gerrard was shit. He looks like he is playing with zero confidence, as had 3 chances where he would normally drive into the box and have a shot, or shoot from long range...but he passed it all 3 times.

Still though, a shit Gerrard is better than SWP.

how can anyboody be an automatic choice for england other than rooney. most players, even then high level ones, gerrard, terry, rio, becks have bad patches, where there not god enough to be picked regardless of how good they usually are, its only players like rooney and messi etc who can, because even when there playing shit they can still do that one bit of magic to win a game. imho we were poor against a poor side.

i agree. and the way all the commentators shag him up because they dont want to offend Ian Wright is a joke. he scoed a lucky goal from a shit under powered shot, i'd prefer to see somebody from fuckin shrewsbury playing who will do simple things like, cross a ball...

I had a double on yesterday...

Captain Gerrard in the 1.10 @ Ascot and Stevie G to score at any point in the England match...

When he had that chance in the last few mins I was screaming for him to smash it...then he fucking passes it...

Grrrr

would you not say barry is playing well at the moment

rooney has done nothing for england for 3 yrs, and although personally i wouldnt drop him, there was a lot of people nationally saying if heskey was fit, they should ov stuck with heskey/owen up front

personally, i wouldnt put rooney in anywhere near the same bracket as messi at the moment, and hes got a long way to go to reach that standard. i feel he is capable of it, but needs a lot of hard work to get there

i dont think england have any players on their game as much as messi is at the moment, but if i was to pick one english player that i would class as un-droppable, it would have to be gerrard in my eyes, and IMO, gerrard (on his day) is englands best player by far

ps i know a lot of people would disagree with me about football which is fine, as without opinions, football wouldnt be the same, but thats just how I see it

barry is playing well, good enough to be an automatic choice for england. you say rooney hasn't done something for England in 3 years, name a time when Gerrard played for England like he has for Liverpool..

How can you say Rooney is undropable?

His goal Yesterday was the first he has scored for England since 2004, if thats not a bad patch I dont know what is

No player should ever be picked on reputation alone, you pick, or you should pick on form, unfortunatley England mangers dont seem to realise this, and seem to pick the bigger named players to keep the FA & the sponsors happy
