to be fair, 0-60 in 7 secs isn't really worth the conversion price, a Saxo VTS does it in 7.7secs. Even the LET conversion in 6 - 6.5 secs, a FWD drive corsa with an XE or LET engine is going to struggle for traction off the line
You want fast 0-60 then go Jap and turbo.
My MR2 turbo that I had hit 60 in under 5 secs. Now that was fast. Got used to it though as you do with every car.
my old standard xe on a539 tyres put constant 6.1's at ford fair 2 years ago,no burnouts were alowed and it put power down really well,if an xe is hitting 7secs to 60 more practice or weight to the foot is needed

my workshop where i am currently employed has a 5 axis cnc pipe bender with a 90mm capacity. ime a aeronautical welder/ machinest. ime not sure what the equivilant welding civilian qualification/ coding is but think its pritty much as good as it gets. ime not saying i am the best welder in the world. truth is not by a long shot but some of the shit i have seen coming out of local fabricators is an embaressment to my trade. a manifold i paid nearly £400 for and waited 2 months blew several welds out right down the middle within 6 months of moddiest use. a down pipe a friend with an astra let had from another local business was a similar story. quality was auful and migged all the flanges. they said it was mandrel bent but it was a average quality compression bend at best. trouble is time=money at most places
must stress ime not vouching for all companies however.

Totally agree, I'm making my own this week. I'll also do a better job than most companys. I hate paying for anythin that I could have done myself. Plus being on nights this week I can get most of my little jobs done! tonights task is turning down a set of astra GTE hubs so they fit a corsa bearing!

wo there a second adam. if you use mk2 golf wheel bearings apparently you will save yourself the hassel. second hand info from a pal though.
all good... unless there for ebay of course where youl prob make more money by machining them down

What, mk2 golf wheel bearing in the corsa housing and then the astra hub will fit in? . Let me know if this is right and I'll get some more hubs as after machining them down your left with the walls about 2.5mm thick

from what i can read you two have never made an exhaust before, you maybe be able to weld a few pieces of scaffold together but do you know anything about gas flow etc?

Oh, corsa1999, Saxos hit 60mph in 2nd gear.
XE's on an F20 need 3rd gear....... 16" wheels on 195/45 will only do 59mph on the 6800 limiter.

Hmmm, like I said earlier, why pay someone to do somethin that I can do myself? I have a stainless backbox and the cavalier gsi manifold. The only bit that needs making is the pipe to join the 2 together!, both are around 55mm so it's not really going to be very hard now is it?. I plan on having this corsa on the road for less than £700 (inc buying the car), id go and buy a full stainless that would add about another £250 to my final cost. If I was gonna spend another £250 it would be on nitrous

F16 is closer than the F20 I thought? So would need earlier changes?
Not got an F16. FAD what did yours do?
"MOST" 2.0 came with F20 boxes though.

Took 2 of my mates 3 days to from engine out to engine in and running. The wiring is the hard bit. The rest is like meccano. Pretty easy if your handy with spanners and stuff.
Take you time and it's easy enough.
EDIT - Neither mate were mechanics.
