the best way to get away with the crown jewls is to use motor bikes, just use some pavements etc if you need to,and have a van or 2 waiting somwhere to drive the bikes inside of, like a mini italian job. actually, how heavy are the crown jewels?

Bloody amateurs.
You need more than one car. Ideally you want a normal every-day car as your first. Once you've done the job the police will have been called with descriptions of the car and your registration plate will have been given. Police response times are rapid for armed robberies so in this situation you need to have a second vehicle located around 1-2 miles away. Ideally a van. I said you need an every-day car for your first, because when you abandon it and transfer the gear into the van, it needs to blend in. If you leave a ferrari on the side of the road it'll get noticed. Now you've transferred the gear and yourselves into the van (3 in the front depending on van, or 1 in the back with the gear) the police will be well on their way looking for the first car. You go your merry way in the 2nd vehicle. Don't burn the first vehicle out, just give it a quick rubdown. You're all wearing 'on the job' gear anyway. If police are alerted to the first vehicle smouldering away, they may have witnesses who pass on the details of your van. Ideally the transfer from vehicle 1 to vehicle 2 should be somewhere pre planned out of the public eye. If very cautious, some have a 3rd vehicle. The 3rd vehicle should be of further distance away than the 2nd vehicle was of the 1st vehicle by quite a few miles.
However, if you've done the job right, 2 vehicles will suffice.
