its a rare edition yea however it doesn't make it a supercar nor does it move it away from the fact its an impreza, which isnt rare.

It needs to have character. It has to breakdown now and again. It has to make the hairs on the palm of your hand stick up. It needs to look like it's doing 200 mph when your looking at it in your garage. It has to sound fantastic and handle.

Oh and if you want a rare, Corsa Convertible??

The term supercar usually refers to factory-built, street-legal sports cars, rather than modified production cars that may have similar performance. Supercars are usually designed for road and amateur track use rather than racing alone, and because of this their standard equipment often does not include roll cages and other features required for race cars.

Taking that into account^^ id guess a scooby could be classed as a supercar.

Ive never thought off them as one though.

An Impreza is NOT a Supercar ffs! Noise regulations or not. You'd have to be an absolute TWAT to set out to buy a supercar... And come back with a Subaru!!

There are 1000 limited edition fabia vrs's, this makes them a supercar.

There are only 100 vxr220's, are these supercars?

im wasnt saying its a super car only because its rare

its a super car because of noise regulations. people were saying its definatly not a super car because its not rare.

i wouldnt think of it as a super car. if i was to go out and buy a super car i would be thinking along the lines of lambo's and ferraris

So basically from what your saying then if a nova sport had a 800bhp let in and made lots of noise it would be classed as a super car.

An no bullshit about this example being different from your gay subaru, as there were only about 500 sports made of the common nova, its been barry'd up in power and makes noises.

So does a caterham superlight fit the mould then?

I would not class a Subaru Imprezza as a super car personally. I don't know anyone else that would either.

I'd say it was a very fast cartoon dog indeed. And one with more or less the capacity for speech too.

LOL this is the best thread of 2007!

A supercar is all down to the make as steve said

Ferrari, Bugati, Lambo, all have years and years of prestige history selling limited numbers of cars at massive price tags

Subaru sell family cars from Japan

The 2 are not the same

I go mad when I see any of these:

I look the other way when I see one of these:

Even classic Ferarri's still give people a grin as they are classic cars.

L reg jap saloons do not

a fully agree with steve....

just becuase it's a limited edition, and louder than normal one's doesn't make it one..

it's like saying a nova sport is one, with only 500 of them made, with came with louder exhaust and a loud induction noise over standard one's -

I used to own on, & im the origin of this arguement!

There fantastic cars but in no way shape or form a supercar!

What about the other ltd editions? McRae, Catalunya, Terzo, RB5 - are any of these supercars, there was even smaller numbers of all these produced!
