It's all well and good doing that in a domestic league where you up against a team that may have 2 class defenders at the most, out of the back 4. However in International football the back 4 are the best back 4 from that nation, and England don't look devastating, that midfield contained Gerrard, and 'supposably' one of the best forwards in the game, Rooney.

Your whole arguement as to why Fabregas shouldnt be in the Spain midfield was based on the domestic form of the other 3 though

He will as Villa is out of it.
I also think Alonso should start ahead of Senna...but thats a new topic!

Get's the best out of Torres having an advanced centre mid, only problem with that is when everyone is fit Villa has to play and he plays best with a partner beside him.

They could play Villa and Torres with Fabregas behind IMO, then a central 3 behind of Iniesta/Silva, Alonso and Deco.

Granted he's a racist old wanker but i don't think he has the cheek to play a Brazilian Portuguese player

TBH after last night you can't drop Iniesta. He played really well. Him and Fabregas looked very sharp. Falls over a bit too much for my liking though.

The entire team functioned better when Villa came off, sounds stupid but it could have been a blessing in disguise.

Agreed, I think the formation after he came off suited the conditions too. Spain have so many attacking options it's just whether the old badger knows how to make best use of them against germany

It's ironic how racist Aragones is, considering he looks like a Chimp.

No it's based on their ability, that was just an example of their consistancy.

Then surely 22 goals and being a major part in Torres getting 32 goals is a great example of his consistancy

Gerrards past and present record is good, at club level especially.
If you compare the main central midfielders of both nations I would say the Spanish have more flair, but the English have better workrates. It's hard to even try and put them in order of who's best, all I could say to put it into a simple way is I'd happily any of these players in a midfield......
Fabregas, Gerrard, Xavi, Senna, Iniesta, Hargreaves, Barry, Carrick.

No, not a patch on Senna, I'm not saying he's rubbish though, but only one man can be the best.
