So you have enough money to get banded steels etc yet you are rolling in a near enough bone stock corsa on softstars that has been lowered ?

I think your completely missing the point with this car!? Do you just look at pics and not read what i put?
For £280 i have a set of new wheels, and new tyres. If i wanted banded steels i'd have to spend around £100 on new steels from Fiat (new because that way i get a better finish when they're painted/powdercoated) around £300 for them banding and then another £100 on new tyres. Thats £500 for a set of wheels - i've saved £220! And i have a set of wheels, which imo are cool! I've already done the banded steels route!
This car is all about budget and buying the right things for the right price. I'm going to spend no where near the amount i did on the Corsavan, but i hope at the end of it i'll have something just as cool.
And stop telling me over and over that this should be done and that should be done. Accept it for what it is! Once you have some pedigree in building cool cars (imo that is) i might start listening. But i build cars the way I want not what others want. If you want it a different way, then you go build one that way...

i totally agree, and i have read all that you have put etc, but im just saying my oppinion on things like you did of my yellow wheels for example..
and the bit above was for antoni, saying i couldnt afford banded steels, and i have a stock corsa, nothing to do with you..

Yeah, but you said it three times in this thread that you didn't like the Superlites. I heard you the first time! But yet you posted up pics of Cinqs on Superlites....
I don't think Antoni meant that you can't afford banded steels, just that why are you running on run of the mill 'cheap' wheels, when you could have a lot better set? And tbh, you car isn't that far from stock from what i can see is it?

kinda has to be asked....
Some why are you wasting money modding it then?

I thought you were joking when you started talking about modding this, but can now see you mean it!!
Look forward to seeing this on the new wheels, as imo, it'll look class!!
What are you doing about lowering it further? Just cut more coils off?!

I'll cut half a coil off at a time, then once its at the height i want i'll measure them up and get Coilsprings to make me a set up.
Update: 15/11/08
Yep! Thats right! I just stretched the tyres onto the rears myself! The place i usually take them couldn't manage it so i only had the front two on. I asked the tyre fitter to put the tyres on and leave it with me. So here's how i got on...
First of all my tools were.....
Crap bodyspray that i got as a gift at Christmas last year...
And a lighter...
This is my work station. (later on i9 changed one of the blocks for some more wood)
This is the what i have to stretch on...
Then i pushed on side of the tyre onto the bead of the tyre and onto the rim of the wheel
Then i layed the wheel onto the blocks so that they were resting on the tyre and the wheel could "float"
Then i carefully ballanced eight wheels and a jack on top of the wheel. This is so it slightly stretches the tyre and closes the gap need to be filled by the tyre. They're stacked wonky so i could get it at an even distance on the tyre all round.
I then used the body spray and sprayed it into the gap all round. Then i lit the lighter and using the body spray as a flame thrower i aimed it at the tyre. With a woosh and a pop, the tyre was on like so...
I then put some air in it and checked for leaks. Everything was ok so i'm now very happy!
Just need to put them on and get them ballanced on Monday!
