Update:
well cambelt snapped on saturday on the way to work, so taking the head off this week to see what damage has been done
ive ordered a new waterpump and getting a cambelt kit as we speak... i imagine some valves will be bent aswell, might even need a new lump if pistons are damaged.....
hopefully i can source a second hand head and just bolt that straight on, id imagine that will be the cheapest option, providing the piston tops arent smashed
ah well at least one good thing arrived today (birthday present from the girlfriend )

Update:
So spent 2/3hours on the car today
Removed the airbox and cam covers to prove it definatly was the belt, and unfortunatly it was! ah well, ive learnt a lesson here
started stripping around the head to enable me to take the head off and see the damage....
ive got preety much everything off now, just got to disconnect the exhaust manifold and it will all be revealed....
should be able to do a bit more on it of friday, and maybe source some parts or an engine over the weekend
pics of progress today:

UPDATE 17/04/09
well spent a further 2 hours on the car today removing the head, so 5 hours in total now, bloody vauxhall plugs and wires everywhere, never again god knows what goes where, should be fun rebuilding....
glad my big mate came round to lend a hand today and wrestle the head off with me, thanks gaz!
anyway, got it off to find all 16 valves damaged, yup all 16 haha
13 are well bent other 3 look ok but have definatly been hit!
but luckly the piston tops, although marked, arent beyord repair so ill be keeping this engine!
ive got another head to pick up tomorrow, so just need to buy all the gaskets, and some new head bolts... ill be ringing you later cyril haha
probably will be next week when it starts getting built up again now!
