Yes its a car but it is an Iconic car.. Its one of those cars that if some low life scum key'd one in public view there will probably be a few cossie lovers that would give him a kicking even if they didnt know the driver

If anyone keyed a car they'd get a kicking if they were seen.
Yes its a good car of its age, but its no McLaren F1, or Ferrari F40....
THOSE are iconic cars. The Escort only done well in rallying and Rallyx, and not for THAT long either. Not for as long as say the Subraru done.
They are iconic becuase it uses a good engine of its day, and its an escort (que Essex staff), and wasn't a Sierra or Saphire, and was affordable, and there wasn't anything else about at the time that would compete with it......
Nowadays, everything is a lot closer, so nothing will be that much of a leap forwards.
Ford RS200, now THATS an iconic car, but as cosworth is just a cosworth imo. I liek the escort, but lets not forget what it really is.

RS200 doesnt even compare.. That is a car of epic proporitons.. A works RS200 is the first thing on my to-buy list if I win the lottory.
You say lots not forget what it really is..But its not an Escort really its just the body panels, its a Sierra underneath and quite a feat of engineering, thats like saying a Lotus Carlton is just a Carlton with a spoiler and a couple of turbos

It is.... Been strengthened, but fundimentally its still just a Carlton with "boyracer" upgrades for the road. more cc, turbos, brakes, chassis strengthening, suspension etc. its still just as nasty inside.
Jsut a sierra underneath? I thoguht the wheelbase length was shorter than a Sierra (actual real question).
Exactly, an RS200 is an epic car, a Cossie is not. Its a great car of its generation, (just like Mk2 Escorts), but time moves on, and things arn't as good as they used to be.

But its still a peice of cr4p though isn't it.
Would you want one for a drive to a Cruise? Or even a drive to south of france??
Sure its iconic, there were more produce of the T than any car to this day, but its still a sh1te car by todays standards isn't it.
People are just picking out the negatives of my replies here, no-one is paying attention to the fact i said i like Cossies, theres just far better out there today...

That looks like the Blue one that has been rebuilt/re-shelled after the mentallist 600+bhp one in Norway was written off?
Edit to include image...

Because its no longer the in thing to do, its now cool to strip out the whole interior of your 1.0 Corsa to save weight. I reckon this is just a cop out because everyones skint and cant afford/be arsed to spend money modding a car so they just do it the cheapo way and make it "like a rally/track car", because we all know a stripped out car is the best thing you can have for getting to work and back*

Don't think it is that one, there's a project thread on it on one of the ford forums, where I got them images and it has a lot of history on it there.

I LOVED my 145db audio system. I still miss it to this day, esp on a hot sunny summers day, when pootling down the motorway.
Found a better shot of the Norway nutter...
And keep your common as muck Rondalls...
