tbh my mates at the rolling road and another mate who rallies a mk2 escort will be playing about with it to get it too handle. im looking at cutting the rear tubs out and fitting new ones couple of inches higher up so i can lower to car alot more so its really on its arse. it will get finished, just got alot higher priorities that money goes on first. only money i spend on the corsa is what i make from engine building.headwork now unlike a couple of years ago when i had a bit of money to throw at it.

few jobs ive been doing for people instead of mine:
build for jakey off corsasport full rebuild and ported head:
pics in no order as ive just back spaced by accident and lost it all so now im pissed off!: obv pistons were decoked.cleaned etc before fitted. crank etc chemically cleaned too, started to port head but compressor decided to break so waiting on a relief valve from snap on man
also had a mates westfield in for ported head and fit some cams. i decided as he was using it on the road more than track to go for the 270 newman cams rather than the 288s. here are pics of the porting/fitting. the lad who built the bottom end wants shooting as it runs 87.5mm wossners and rods and a stock HG so the pistons been twatting the fire ring and nipping the chamber with having the raised crown. so fitted a cometic and sorted the chambers out so wont happen again.
pics of the roughing, finish and fitting:
motor spec:
Steel rods, wossner 87.5mm hi-comp pistons, 1.3 cometic, ported/polsihed head, newman 270cams, R1 carbs, megajolt and a TLE manifold/system, in all honestly i and the lad said we would be happy if saw 200bhp@fly. the motor made 190bhp@wheels which working on 18% losses + tad under 225bhp@flywheel so we were both happy. peaks at 6.5k and limit set at 7k, and fair does in the car its an animal up the ind estate amd the lad crapped it when took it home so both happy.
another job was a engine rebuild and conversion for Rbailey88 on Corsasport too. i dont think i have many pics of the engine build but from other build you will get idea but here are some pics of the work and of the car(left with rob waiitng on filter but wanted to keep it looking as factory as possible which i think ive done), no order again for these pics + excuses the mess in some pics you know how it gets lol:
there the only pics ive got im sure i had more, but ill get some off rob of how it looks from the outside.
ive also bought another corsa gsi with a c16xe wanted another after i butchered the other one. well after giving it abit of stick the water pipe under the centre of the inlet burst so after driving home i decided to buy a mantzel, Spax rsx coilovers and do the head as a matter of course(HG was just going) pics of its progress and semi death in a semi order:doh:lmao
pics again:

no pics of it all complete with airbox, but fitted spax, new belt kit, oh ex ports were mega smooth just no finished pics.
and then managed 20miles last friday night picking a mate up, and heard a rattle, ignition lights on....belt cut into belt cover, got mate to pick me up, went to unit to get the polo and a tow rope to pick it up from a v.dodgy area and this was at 12.30 at night, took to unit and took belt cover off to find idler uner inlet had sheared...not happy so head back off again:
bottom end is also out the car. decided to do a full build so new oil pump, bearings, etc, going to balance stock rods end to end and match them all, ive got some hi-comp forged pistons to go in, going for some ARP's, lightened flywheel, uprated clutch, waiting on ex gasket from sbd so i can cut out the nipple thing out the bottom of ex ports on head and manifold and after speak to martin bowyer i should be looking at a 1600 that will take 8k limit but id leave it at 7.5-7750rpm when go on DTa and fit some newmans in future.
also turned the rear engined gsi round tonight. took some pics with panels on and panels off, so you get an idea of how standard it should look. think its going to be funny and you cant tel for toffee that the front space framed and you wont be able to see the engine when sat in the car behind either so thats going to be fun, but here are some pics of panels on and off and how much metals be cut out the orginal sheel
bear in mind im taking the tubs out and rasing 4 inches so i can fit those cut slicks under the arches and its on metal bars so it will roll lol
pics with all panels off:
oh and mates coupe, came down to help push the cars around

managed to do a few more jobs, let pics do the talking.
went to make mount for pedal box, after playing about with where seat would be, i need to buy a new pedal box where the cylinders side under your heels so that i can gain the leg room to be able to sit more than comfy enough.
started to weld floor up:
also a few new parts for the c16xe in the 'standard' gsi ive also got:
lightened nova gte flywheel
inserts to bin cambelt tensioner off so tension off water pump:
hi-comp pistons and steel rods/arps
and some cams from martin bowyer...hes ground the numbers off...doesnt help but their 285's either made by catcams or enem..will find out more when measure them. also waiting on steel oil pump gear, verniers, dual springs, caps, piston circlips and a helix friction plate.
cams anyway:
more pics too come
