This is now a rout. the Everton defence backs away to allow Cesc Fabregas to advance to the edge of the area and fire a low shot past Tim Howard and into the bottom corner of the net. The Spaniard hoists a shirt in memory of his close friend Daniel Jarque, the Seville player who died after a cardiac arrest last week
5-0 Arsenal.
doubters.

Yep...its the same as everyone writing off Arsenal before a ball is kicked!!! You walked into that Cosmo.

I havent walked into anything.
Everyone has written you off as you have won nothing for years, sold some of the best players in your squad and not replaced them, and were nowhere last year compared to the big 3.
One game hasnt changed that.

Its a new season. Barnsley could finish in top four for all we know. Only a mug writes off a team before the season starts. Who cares about last season or the last 4 years.
We are thumping Everton who suposedly have a chance of top 4. Its only one game, i'm not saying that we are going to win the league...just gives the doubters something to chew on.

Because that bit I quoted is so stupid that I thought only Doyle could of posted it.
Of course previous seasons matter. The only reason it would is if you've done a City and spent a fortune....you havent.

Andrey Arshavin toe-pokes the ball goalwards in a crowded penalty area and it takes a slight deflection before bouncing on to a post. Who is first to react? Eduardo of course, and the Croatian taps home the loose ball from close range to mark his Premier League return with Arsenal's sixth goal.
6-0 Arsenal

Well, at least Everton have got a consolation. Steven Pienaar bursts into the penalty area and, although his shot is blocked by Manuel Almunia, the ball falls for Louis Saha to fire the rebound home
6-1

No it means we've stuffed everton, got 3 points, given ourselves a healthy goal diff start and look like we could actually challenge for the title......shocker!

Arsenal smashed Everton off the pitch today. Everton just could not get the ball. Cesc's goals were superb.

Cosmo dont be a fucking cunt, if you can ever beat the 5th placed team away from home on the first day of the season 6-1 then do come back and feel free to have a go
For now.... very very impressive, Everton weren't very good at all and I'm sure people will yack on about how Lescott was unsettled etc.... but we made their defence look a shambles, excellent display. Song was very influential in midfield. A good all round result and one to build form
Can you say top of the league??

Villa 2 down, bit surprising imo!
Not at all, they would ahve been relegation fodder on their 2nd half form last year Id say, + they sold their best player... not at all a surprsing result!

Last year? Their was a season last year?
I think you must be mistaken, as how teams finished in the league in previous seasons has no reflection what so ever on how they'll do this year.

Watch out for Drogba's two goals tonight. Ok the second wasn't meant but it was still a nice goal
The first was a lovely free kick

Did it really need the BBC score update commentary?
I haven't seen it, but i agree, to beat Everton 6-1 must of been a pretty impressive performance.
Tis only the first game though, but a good start for Arsenal.
