You can thank us later Doyle.
Massivly happy with our win today. Went 1-0 but battled back to snatch it 2-1. It's alright us beating teams but 4/5/6 every week at home, but its games like today where you dont play as well as you can, but battle to get a result which will win us promotion.
Up to 3rd now

I think Owen is getting better for us you know. Just gets himself in those positions where he sneaks through the defence at the right time. Bad angles for him to finish it yesterday though!
He will stick a few more goals in yet

Totally agree. He may be a goal hanger but he gets delivery and has several chances each game. Hes doing everything right, just needs to put more away. Another start and 90 minutes will have done him a world of good too.

Now or always? Because he used to be one of the best finishers about.

Well you're a fucking Doyledrum then aren't you! His finishing for Liverpool and Englad was always immense. So far hes been unlucky with us but had a couple of good finishes.

Nope, his goal scoring record is right up there, I wont argue that. But I have ALWAYS (even when he was at Liverpool) said it takes him 4 or 5 great chances to score one.
His strength was (and is, he just has less pace now) getting into fantastic positions so he does have a lot of chances.

Unlike which strikers that score with every other chance?

Im not saying that, Im not comparing him to anyone else out there. Im just saying his finishing is not great.
If you really want to compare, Id hazard a guess most top strikers would not need 4 or 5 great chances (not just chances, we're often talking just him and the keeper) to score 1 goal.

Owen isn't regarded as a top striker anymore though. He's clearly not in the same bracket as Torres and Villa and Co. Not for me anyway.

Im talking his whole career though. He was fantastic at Liverpool, and at the time was one of the best forwards on the planet, but even then I (and a hell of a lot of Liverpool fans who watched him week in and week out) knew he'd always get himself in to great positions (often running through with his pace so one of one with the keeper), try to turn his body to curl it alla Henry, and miss.
