Thanks matey. Orange bulbs will go eventually, just never bothered me really. As for rear lights, I love the fact I have clear MHWs when everyone else goes for smoked ones, and if I went for smoked I'd then need smoked repeaters, smoked front lights and possibly other bits to make them suit better, so the rears will be staying

And a couple of updates I made on other forums, but forgot here

Present from a friend...

Right, car is booked into the bodyshop again for Wednesday

Vented wings, colour-coded scuttle and mirror bases, and satin black pillars

Also had a mini spend on the bay - chrome indicator bulbs, new numberplate lens and smd bulb, and new bright white front fog light bulbs.

I got a new job woooooooo! So am rewarding myself a little

Next up is tints pic updates on everything when I can!

So, today was interesting. Couple of small parcels - rear numberplate light (not yet fitted) and chrome indicator bulbs.

Oh, and spent a little while driving this about...

170 miles on the clock

Ok, so about time I gave a full update/recollection of the eventful day that was Trax!

Set out at 4am, car looking spanking. Met up with a few people on convoy but about 8am we started having route issues - misleading sat navs so ended up pulling over in a bus stop/layby in Edgeware (iirc).

I was sat in the car with the door on the latch when a lorry drove past very fast and very close. The force of the wind created by the lorry driving by ripped open the door (damaging the lock in the process) and the trailer part of the lorry smashed into the door, completely distorting the metal and smashing the window:

So police and RAC called, most issues dealt with, lock eventually sorted (after setting off the alarm over and over again grrr!) and door bent back as best we could I set off again for Trax (bit chilly with no window!)

I arrived around 10am and parked up on the AC stand. Then it started to rain so...

Improvisation!

I wandered over to the CS stand and spoke to Ian who was most helpful and gave me some bin-bags and gaffer tape. What resulted what resulted can only be described as a master-piece (or what was known from that point on as "polish window tinting"!)

Beautiful!

So the rain eventually stopped, and some very helpful AA men offered a substitute for the bin bags so that the car was drive-able but still rain free! More damage pics were taken before the next stage:

Cue the helpful AA men with their revolutionary "crash wrap"...

One of the biggest crowds at Trax?!

It's see through look!

So all in all not the best show for me, but still managed some ok pics!

So time for thanks:

Bradders, his Mrs, his mate and his mate's Mrs for hanging around while I sorted the car at the scene of the accident; Tim the RAC man for fixing the car as best anyone could! The coppers for sorting stuff with the stupid polish ass-hole lorry driver; Ian for supplying bin-bags and gaffer tape TJ for helping me fit the black bin-bag mod; the AA guys for their magic "crash wrap" and everyone in general for supportive comments and taking the piss but in the best of humour!

Trax wasn't as good as it should have been for me, but still a good show none-the-less!

Peace all!
Sam

Well, new door on the way - arden blue, £55 delivered with glass etc so pleased about that. Busted door is stripped completely - mirror, door card, speaker build, handle etc etc ready for the big swap over. Soon as the door has arrived I'll book the car into the bodyshop to have the bump strip swapped over and the pillar sprayed black again. After that it's just a case of ordering more Irmy badges and getting it all put back together.

It will be back to it's best again soon!

I dont like the black pillars, looks stupid imo. Your trying to make up a fake straight line. Just dont like it.

Other than that and the lights, not bad.
