Yeah I remember £20 used to fill up the Corsa's tank!

Takes almost £46 to fill mine up now

Shocking when I passed it was 76.9p a litre and we had the occasional fuel strike too

Just filled the Clio up £62 to the click

The 3.0D will get best part of 30mpg while the 4.4 petrol will get 15.

Thats a massive difference and im starting to bottle it, although I do want the petrol version

Might be a hit at first, but unless you plan on keeping it for a large number of years, i think the 4x4 will save you money! The diesel ones are so much more is abit daft!

Yeah a friend of mine has the 3.0d, I used to hate x5's till I had a little spin in one!

Running costs i.e servicing and consumables such as tyres are a killer aparrently. It just got chopped in for a 330d Touring to save money!

I discovered in the Corsas it isn't when the light comes on, it's when it goes back off again

Ibiza(s) was funny, managed 60 miles with "0" on the trip once

currently averaging 32mpg in my e46 330ci, can creep up to 38mpg if i dive like a granny at 50mph and down to 15mpg when pushing on lol

generally dont worry about fuel but i drive fairly slowly anyway and only have the odd blast

We went out in it the other day, even when he was pushing it, the screen said 37.8 mpg

Believe it or not I didn't really care about mpg. The 12v used to get 47mpg minimum no matter how it was driven, normally 50mpg though. That is book figure for the car.

I bought the Punto on the belief that I could get the 47mpg book figure. I'm averaging 38mpg which is hitting the bank balance pretty hard, so may be I should have bought a diesel as I don't earn a great deal.

But then a diesel has more to go wrong with it i.e. a turbo. Plus for what I paid for the Punto the diesel would be a complete dog in Sporting guise.

I think you should only worry about mpg if your car isn't your hobby. Mountain biking is my hobby so only need a car to get from A to B, so it doesn't need to be fun. But the Punto is both fun and doesn't cost a great deal.

When I earn more I'm sure it won't bother me.

Did you used to have an X5?

My friend who has one said exactly the same, tyres are £250 a pop too :/

I do alot of scuba diving which is one reason why I want, I want something big I can load up.
Plus we are expecting our first child in June and would like something big, practical and something nicer than my previous cars.

Because estates are for grandads and dont generally look that good.
The only estate I might consider is an Audi, but compared to the 4x4, you dont get as much car for the money.
