Ok so this weekend put on the powdercoated rear beam with the new brake shoes, new bearings and new handbrake cable, managed to take the brake pipes off the old axle and clean them up but I didn't get any pictures. The backplates got painted silver a few weeks ago and I gave the drums a quick lick of black hammerite before they went on...

Old axle

New axle in place

New shoes and cylinders

With the wheel back on

So while the axle was off decided to swap my wheels round, fronts on the back... Back on the front but as I'm running Parada Spec II, some of you will know if you've got camber... They soon disappear!!

But it wasn't too bad as I had a 15" steel wheel with a part worn Parada already on it! So I chucke that on along with a hub cap! Haha

That's all for the moment but I also changed my tailgate aswell but I'll upload those pictures in a bit.

Thanks for reading!

Right so also this weekend got my new tailgate on. I bought this a few weekends ago off metzy I think... It had the boot lock and wiper hole smoothed but kept the number plate recess. Also had a spoiler on it too all in white already so couldn't really let it go!

You might not be able to tell from the pictures but it is slightly a different shade of white so will need a respray at some point. Got my new reg plate on aswell with my pressed plates. Thanks again!

No tailgate!

Thanks for the comments guys. Hoping to get some more updates up this weekend when I've made a flat 'door card' for the tailgate.

I've always wondered what the rear wiper motor cover looks like from a boot without a wiper from the factory

Not got round to doin the wiper motor bit but had some stuff delivered which I can hit on soon!

Loom tape

Heat wrap

I've heard that if you soak the heat wrap in water first its easier to fit... Is this true??

Thanks Al

So today I managed to get a couple hours on the car. As its goin in for the vinyl soon I thought it would be a good idea to get it stripped out and then can start measuring up for the false floor. While I was at it I re-wrapped part of the loom from the back of the front seats right through to the rear lights, here's how I got along.

All out!

Empty?

Old loom

New loom

And then a couple of holes where the seat belts bolted into the chassis, started like this..

Finished with silicone

It sounds awesome in the car now haha but I guess it will quieten down a bit when the floor is in. Has anybody got any tips for the false floor? I was wondering how to fix it so it's not rattling about everywhere!
Help is much appreciated.

Thanks Al
