i find daytime harder to achieve a dramatic or eye catching effect
daytime is easier if youre focussing on something, like a car, scenes dont tend to work too well, unless theres something specific in it, eg a mountain etc

First image with the carpark, the buildings behind look like they have potential for a nice photo, nice form and lighting but the cars in the foreground ruin it all.
Second image, you've taken hdr, something I find overdone now and combined it with a bloody motorway light trail shot the single most overdone shot ever
