But if you are going to buy new ones which I assume you would on a new build you may as well pay a little more for the SBD jobbies.

You dont need anything untill the things that were working brake. I'd rather fit uprated parts that are fairly cheap whilst the cams are getting swapped.

Plastic OE rollers/idlers or metal... hmm

Oliver - You dont need a baffled sump either.... untill you catch a bearing due to oil starvation.

Whoa... then its too late

Springs and dampers need to work with motion ratios. Wheel rates are what is important so its no good comparing different spring rates between different cars.

FWD handling is all about diff and roll stiffness/roll centre split front to rear - as well as getting dampers to work. I picked up 1 second a lap at Mallory Park with just damping adjustments.

Sort the handling then go down the engine route. Its more fun going round corners quickly than it is in a straight line.

They'll brake and turn in the same regardless of how much power it has.

Like me

I think I do too many miles in a transit, so it always takes a while to get used to cars

I always brake too early at Combe, but I never really trusted my old van under braking. But I do hope my new project will sort all these problems.

My exhaust was a janspeed jobbie but was 8 years old.

Do the x16xe come with a baffled sump?
The c16xe does iirc.

And if it didn't I never suffered from oil starvation problems, only oil running out problems. nothing a litre of oil never cured.

i mean properly baffled pan, not a windage type tray thing.

I'd be surprised if they did. I'll google it

SBD offer a baffled (gated) sump pan.... so they have something to improve with. Not conclusive though.

That's because it's true, and you yourself have agreed with that in the past, only with different wording

i’d go for gaz personally, as i have had good experience with them on the nova and they aren’t mega money, no need to get the golds, just the single adjustment ones will be more than enough, with 275lb front and 300lb rear springs, 8 inch open length on both

nice coilover set up, with adjustable damping.
Get it to the height you want and cant get it solid for track, and soft for the roads.

Gaz is what is going through my mind also. The ease of specifying springs with them helps as well

had to make a slight change as they dont keep the rear deisgn on file to work with the coilover platforms, rears are 350lb, got a feeling the fronts will end up far to soft for track, as there just a road spec spring, dont have the figures to hand
