id say anycar that pushes you back in your seat and you have difficulty pulling yourself away is fast.

i only have 3 levels

slow
fast
supercar

end of.

totally agree with this, the 1st bit is exactly what annoys me, people think everything they are driving is quick, be it a work van, a hire car, courtesy car, piece of shit car.

i like the slow, fast, supercar grouping

my escort isn't quick fast, buts its not torture to accelerate in.

1.4 corsa and the 1.4 bravo i had seemed like they involved effort and damaging to the engine to drive quickly

also the definition of a fast car to me is broke into two.

A Quick Car = speed it gets to top speed
A Fast Car = its terminal speed (150mph above)

Isnt there actual benchmark figures that make a car a "supercar" that allows them to have slightly higher emissions and higher noise levels as standard?

Sure I read something like that when I was buying my old P1? I could have been dreaming though?

They maybe come under the low volume category which isn't as strict on the emissions.

Hi Matt

Sorry i haven't wrote back sooner, but my hand took a funny turn and i've had to rest it.

Since i last wrote, i have found the woman on facebook and everyone of her friends has a dog photo for their profile pic. I am starting to realise she is properly mad about dogs.

I can only hope she moves away one day, i get the feeling she moved here because she was exiled from her previous neighbourhood.

Kinds Regards,
James

i agree with all he "fast" can be broken down and defined and it is deffo dependent on the person but my rule of thumb always was ...

"a fast car, is a car which you can put ya foot to the floor in first gear (in the dry) and the front wheels spin, or rear wheels if its RWD" (with out using/snatching the clutch of course) ... obv this isn't fair on 4x4's but still ...

cars will always start slowing down after 60mph anyway the nature of physics....... now ur talking about wind resistance/aerodynamics lol so a car will always get to 60 quicker than 60-100

Indeed I do but i don't see the relevance.
I wasn't slaging off his car. More the way he worded it. "Modern day traffic" as aposed to an old horse and cart. It just made me laugh

My bad, cos that was a seperate sentence I thought you were suggesting that only supercharged or TT cars are fast Not specifically VXR8's

Modern day traffic,as in,cars from the past 5 years or what-not.

Or maybe i should have said day-to-day traffic.Aye,that would have been a better comparison.

complete and utter rubbish using the example youve given, from a standing start cars will get to 60 quicker than they will from 60-mph, that makes no logical sense

for example 60-100mph

Koenigsegg CCR 1.4s
SSC Ultimate Aero TT 1.8s
Porsche 9FF GT9R 2.0s
Koenigsegg CCX 2.0s
TVR Cerbera Speed 12 2.2s
Koenigsegg CCXR Special Edition 2.2s
Tramontana R 2.4s
Porsche 9FF GT9 2.5s

which are all quicker than there 0-60 time

The amount of power required to overcome drag increases exponentially so if you don't have much, that is the case. It's by no means a rule though.
