That's roughly when it kicks in anyway. But a remap won't alter that, a Vtec controller will.

So his will actually be running more like 170bhp with a full exhaust and remap you won't stand a chance

Depends on what ECU he has (it can't be standard for a remap)... my vtec used to kick in at 6-8 and now it's 5-9 and I have no vtec controller on mine

You can get the standard ecu socketed and remapped Ash Obviously if he has something like a Hondata S300 then he can alter the Vtec engagement. But on a standard ECU with a chip, then it isn't possible. On another note, I didn't know EP3's had Vtec so high up the rev range

Well essentially mine is a Hondata k100 chip on a standard ecu. All this lowering the vtec down to like 2k up to 9k is a load of tosh as it's not likely the fuelling or air will actually change until the original vtec point so it'll make all that noise for nothing... I think officially the vtec kicks in at 5800-8200 on ep3s but you don't feel the kick until 6+

Ya a vtec kiks to 8.5k revs as the limiter kiks in at that unles derestricted but vtec can kik in early with a vtec controler witch is like a turbo timer just for vtec witch makes vyec kik in at 2k revs insted of 4 an follow all the way to the limiter or if u run a hondata ecu it gives u ya more control e.g gives u vtec controler and launch control and 4-6 dif setings of ecu tuning lmao not bein funny but a crx with ek9 cams and a hondata ecu would even give a redtop a a run an i know this from exeriance

WHAT??

Although in shocking English, what he says speaks sense Except the fact that Vtec is nothing like a turbo, and Vtec cotrollers are just that, you dictate when it kicks in, not just at 2k as that would be silly But a B16a with DC2 cams will thump an XE all day long.

I'm not even sure why I'm answering the troll but here goes... A CRX will be the same weight, if not lighter than your Corsa, and they have 150bhp as standard (B16a1). That alone would sit side by side with an XE Corsa, so your Sport with what, 120ish bhp will be hammered.

Not sure what the cams do to the B16 but my old XE Corsa used to thump Marc Craigie's old DC2.Done it a few times on the same night, everytime he tried, the Corsa used to just pull away relatively easy. Both of us were quite shocked tbh.It even pulled away after he had the jump/build up in speed and tried to pass.Got as far as the rear 1/4 then it was bye bye.

I'm not massively impressed with the dc2's either tbh Nik But the cams make a big difference on the b16 in a car which is so much lighter than the Integra (depending on what civic it is obviously). I'll need to take you out in my motor to show you even lightly modified ones aren't shy!

dc2 has 190bhp but only 130lb/f and weighs 1200kgs, wouldn't be surprised if a redtop corsa could keep with it.
