If you passed your car driving test before 1 February 2001 you don't need to complete a CBT course to ride a moped. However, the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) recommend that you do. Many experienced car drivers who take up motorcycling find that CBT is an eye opening experience which increases their awareness of hazards.

Thank god I've had my license for nearly 14 years then

Correct. You need to do the CBT test before you can ride a pedda.

If you've got a full license you can ride up to 50cc with no L-Plates and no need for a CBT.

This has been covered already and found to be bull.

The K (normally with F and P) category on your license means you can ride a moped (i.e. 50cc and limited to 27mph)..

That is a FACT.

Ummmm.

Got my licence in 2000, the card has B, B1, fkp. No codes. The paper bit has A, BE, GH on it.

I want to ride a 125 like a mito or rs125.

Cbt and thats it?

The fkp bit means you can ride a 50cc with no L plates. You need a CBT to ride 125cc.

4 stroke 125's are much better than the two stroke equivalent. If you want speed get a proper bike, if you want reliabilty and economy get a 4t 125

Agreed.. While the 125 race reps are quicker they dont have the reliability and are not as forgiving as a 4 stroke.
