So on that suggestion, the corsa xe will push 150 mph?

Of course not but the corsa will get to it's top end of about 130ish quicker than the golf will. I'm not just guessing here the guy in the golf I had the sport with even stopped in the garage and had a good chat with me about it lol.

Ok back on topic lol

The M3 is a great looking car and comes with all the toys and is no doubt pretty quick it just doesn't look 340bhp quick.

I was in an m3 when it raced an evo 8 fq320 and over 100mph the evo couldn't keep up (although due to more torque and 4wd it does 0-60 slightly quicker..).

E46 M3's weigh like 1600kgs don't they (Eck your r32 isn't much lighter ) ?

M3's provide everything. build quality, performance, badge, comfort and toys... EVO and Scoob don't (but as mentioned different class of car!).

sooooo hang on a minute an m3 is it not supposed to be one of the best handling cars about and i QUOTE from members on here who claim they have immense levels of grip can these people who say an evo would rape one DEFINE immense levels of grip???????

i completely agree that the m3 would never shake off a evo and that an evo is in a league of its own....handling wise and poss ok looks but everywhere else it fails compared.....

end of the day evo is a drivers car and so is the m3 so i think they are compareable in my eyes..... i know people will disagree but thats my opinion especially when you consider a fq evo which lets face it is'nt cheap and you still basically get a interior dating back to the nineties... maybe my opinion if fueled by the price of an evo as immense as they are handling is'nt enough for me to warrant the price tag...

GRIP and HANDLING are two completely different things.

They are comparable, but aimed at two different areas thus making them a bit of an oddball comparison.

Bingo. Impreza's tend to understeer when pushed hard, whereas an M3 is a perfectly balanced, poised machine. Hence being a better "drivers" car. It will be a better handling thing. But the levels of grip you can get from an Impreza/Evo are absurd.

your original comparison was interiors, the fact is they are different cars, your comparing an M3 against an evo or subaru, surely a better comparison would be an S4 or a AMG mercedes or S5 or something?

Id like to know when an evo became a premium motor vehicle.

Cant just go on price or youd say an aerial atom has a shit interior compared to the m3.

M3 = less grip > oversteer excellent feel/balance (when pushed too far) = better handling
EVO = more grip > understeer electronic cut in gayness (when pushed too far) = worse handling.

This has turned into an M3 is a shit slow car thread
It still does 0-60mph in 5.5secs its a fucking fast car.

Personally i would rather buy a 330D, gets like 40mpg and is only 0.4 seconds slower to 60.

I also find it hard to believe that an m3 is better handling than an evo although ive never owned an m3 so carnt really comment.
